A tank set up is a very individual concept, me personally, I prefer a more natural tank, if it were mine it would be a case of removing all the 'unatural' ornaments ie the cannon, lighthouse etc.

I had the same problem and found that if you have one bulb which is faulty then it will automatically shut off both lights, i had two old bulbs at home and founf when i changed them over the problem was sorted. Hope that helps. Justin

I have a combi boiler and always mix hot and cold from the tap into the bucket without any problems.

I'm not sure how your finishing the construction but make sure it is either braced diagonally or fix ply to all the outside faces otherwise you'll find that it might suddenly start to collapse sideways
