Hello,

I am looking to do the above can anybody please advise how easy or difficult it would be to remove the filter if it can be done at all.

I want to replace with either the

Fluval 405
Tetratec Ex1200
Enhiem 2028

or any other that might be recommended

Any feedback regarding filters would be most appreciated.

Thanks again

For some reason people on here give the fluvals a hard time. I bought one to do exactly as you want to do, to replace the internal filter on my rio 240 and i gotta say it does a top job on the filtration, pretty quiet(although not silent) and i've never had any problems with the priming of it after a maintenance programme

Not just "some unknown" reason - I've lost count of the number of "crisis" threads where people ask what to do because their external Fluval Filter Failed and there is water everywhere. It might be resolved with the latest external series, but fact is, they are not as consistently reliable as some other makers - such as Eheim.
