I've got Poe's complete works in my collection, he is one of my favs (a tied second after Lovecraft, who was also a big fan of Poe in his day since we are on the topic).
I have a bad habit of reading multiple books at once. I have amazing mood swings, so my mood dictates which book I read on any given day. I try to keep about 3 books going on at a time for variety. Right now, the trio is Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk, Biological Exhuberance by Bruce Bagemihl, and Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. I just finished Danse Macabre by Laurell K. Hamilton (AWFUL! Do not waste your money!), Only Begotten Daughter by James Morrow (fantastic), and One for Sorrow, Two for Joy, by some guy whose writing is bad enough that I haven't bothered remembering his name for future reference.
Yeah, I don't know what she's doing; clearly ignoring her fan base, that's for sure. Its all been plotless porn lately, not the arse-kicking, supernatural beasties, and detective work that the better, earlier books had. Hopefully she'll see the reviews from readers on the last two books and get her arse in gear... the ratings were 2.5 or less for the last few books on B&N.com, and all of the comments said there was too much sex and not enough plot.oh bum, just bought Danse Macabre, keep on hoping she'll get good again. (I really am going to have to get past this wishful thinking when it comes to Hamilton, but I enjoyed the first Anita Blake books so much)
