No, she wasnt quarantined, didnt have anywhere to put her. She is the same age as the male so I thought she would be reaching 2" by now.

I have already posted this in the New World Cichlid Section, but thought I might get a better response in here as no one seems to know what's wrong with my Ram. I brought 2 Blue German Rams, the female of the two got ill, it was internal bacteria, I treated her and she has now fully recovered...

Dwarf Gourami 5 x Cardinal Tetras 1 x Pleco 2 x Serpae Tetra 5 x Zebra Danios Any ideas why she has stopped growing?

My crab gets Hikari stick things that i put on top of the filter for him because he loves sitting up there and that way none of the fish can get his food.

They are in 15 UK Gallon tank.

I'd say she's only about 1" long, and compared to my other Ram who i got at the same time (I think he is now fully grown) she is tiny. Apart from not growing, she seems fine. She is eating and her poo is normal. But I am worried about her.

My Ram was ill a while back a short while after i got her. She had an internal bacteria problem, but that has been sorted. However, she seems to have stopped growing and i was wondering whether this is a consequence of her illness.

I dont know whether i am right in thinking this, but dont they belong in marine tanks?

From what i know they cant survive without water but they do like to climb out so its good to provide something for them to climb on to get out of the water. Be careful though, they are little escape artists. I have no idea how but mine often gets up on top of my filter so hes out of the water...

A betta would suit a tank of that size

Mine is my balloon kissing gourami - his lips keep me entertained for hours its so funny. And he follows my dwarf gourami everywhere. I also love my RTBS he is quite a character. As is my Red Claw Crab. Oh, i cant choose, i love them all :lol:

Red Claw Crabs arent brackish, mine lives happily in my community tank. He gets on fine with the fish (except at feeding time when they try and eat his food) He is doing really well, and has shed his skin twice already, he is growing quickly. I love him, his name is Sebastian.

I also would advise against the kissing gourami, they commonly get to around 8", way too big for your tank

I just have 1 community tank, but should be getting a 2.5 gallon tank for a Betta next month (for my birthday)

What should you do with the eggs if they have been laid and there is no male in the tank? (I have eggs in my tank, but they are covered with a purple type gunk, still unsure who they belong to but they havent hatched)

I have two questions: 1. Would females lay eggs without the prescence of a male? and 2. What do zebra danio eggs look like?

I have a balloon kissing gourami and I was wondering how he is different to just a kissing gourami. The only difference I can spot is that he he has a smaller body than a kissing gourami.

What do Ram eggs look like? As I have eggs and I am still unsure to which fish they belong to!

Mine is a Balloon Kissing Gourami, I have one and he is just so cute, so full of character.

Do Betta's prefer long or high tanks?

I think my favourite has to be either the largest of my german blue rams or my balloon kissing gourami.

I keep my Red Claw Crab in my community tank and he gets along with everyone fine, except at feeding time when the fish try and eat his food.... I guess it depends on the crabs personality.... :dunno:

Sebastian (my crab) doesnt bother my bottom dwellers at all. Unless its feeding time....he doesnt appreicate the other fish trying to steal his food. My plec (aka Tigger) has his home and sebastian has his, so they tend to just stay out of each others way.

I have read that some fish like veggies, cucumber and peas etc. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me if my fish would benefit from them and which fish like which veggies. I have: 1 x Dwarf Gourami 1 x Balloon Kissing Gourami 1 x RTBS 2 x German Blue Rams 5 x Cardinal Tetras 4 x Zebra...

Thats what i am doing too. Been thinking about all the tank set-ups i want! Forget the furniture :P

Unfortunately i dont have any spare hardware, being new to this my first tank set-up has cost me enough so i dont have the money to buy spares, but i am sure they will accumulate over time!

Are you sure they were trying to bite you? When i put my finger in the tank, my zebra danios like to come up and suck it. Mine get 2 small feeds a day. But they will eat all day if they could.

I used a small terracotta pot which i have cut in half so i have two small places to hide. Sebastian my crab has one and Tigger my catfish has the other.

I dont have any snails. Its like purple gunk with little black spots....

pH is 7.4, i dont think its the Rams purely because one of them has been ill, but she hs been hanging round the eggs a bit.
