The gourami should be fine. As for schooling fish, giant danios, rainbow fish, and larger tetras like Congos.

I agree with Mikey1 on all he said. Though as a second choice an under gravel filter with 2" of gravel works well.

Could have been dwarf gourami disease. Google it and see if any of the symptoms fit.

Want To Start A Dirt Amazon Tank

Tetras, live bearers, barbs all offer plenty of color, as do the dwarf cichlids you're contemplating.

    Uaru Chiclids

Depends on the severum. I would say usually, yes. Add the severum after the uaru and you'll have better luck. Don't forget dither/target fish. Some of the larger tetras like bleeding hearts or Columbian tetras work well for this.

Want To Start A Dirt Amazon Tank

Ok, can't really help you on the aquascaping, but the fish I can. No, I repeat No flowerhorns, get big and very aggressive. No convicts, stay small, but again aggressive. No jewels, same as convicts. None of the sharks. Discus hard to keep. Severums eat plants...

Danios Not Happy With Rummy Nose Tetras

Depends on the size the tank. Give them a few days and they might settle in. If you do add more fish, adding a couple more of each, at the same time, would be best.

    Almond Leaves

I use one for every 5 gallons, as I'm not trying to stain the water. Though 1 per gallon has been recommended for creating blackwater.

    Seachems Matrix

I would do it myself, as the matrix has way more surface area for bacteria to colonize.

What Kind Of Fish Is This?

It is a flowerhorn. Could be female or just to young to have its hump. Any water will do, as long as its dechlorinated and in a cycled aquarium. It should also be in at least a 40 gallon aquarium minimum. Temp should be 76-80°F. Feed it a good cichlid pellet.

What kind of substrate do you have? It could be rubbing its chin on the gravel. Look up African dwarf frog diseases on Google, and see if there's anything on there that matches.

Not sure about the Asian delicacy. But fish don't no better. Other fish will eat puffers if they can, some suffer ill affects others don't.

    Uaru Chiclids

Uaru need almost identical care and conditions to discus. The biggest difference is uaru are plant eaters and need lots of veggies in their diet. They will also eat any plants you try to keep with them. 4£ is a great price. They do get large, so my suggestion would be to buy 6 of them, but...

    Unexplained Deaths...

Puffer fish carry a toxin in their gal bladder. Most likely they scavenged the corpse and died because of it.

    Unexplained Deaths...

Well I think I figured it out. I had a dwarf puffer with them, didn't even think about it til just nowthat I had found a partial corpse in my tank a day or two before it all started. So in my book, case closed.

    Almond Leaves

I use them. They do work, but you have to constantly add new ones. Personally I like the look of them. Alder cones will also help lower pH and are available on ebay as well.

    Petco Herbal Ich Cure

Looks like the med, maybe killing off your bio filter. I assume that's the reason for all the water changes during treatment. Anyway, 80-90% water changes for the next several days will be needed to bring those numbers to zero.

    New Rocks Causing Murky Water

That's Utah lace rock. It has a tendency to hold lots of dirt in small holes, if you don't get it all your tank will cloud up. Just keep up.with your water changes and things will be fine.

The little guy under the filter looks like a clown pleco, from what I can see. Maybe Google that. The other is a flying fox, can be aggressive. Google him as well for more detail. Petco Herbal Ich Cure

Herbal ich cure, kordon or other is useless. Go to walmart and get quick cure. Just remember because you have tetras, 1 drop for each 2 gallons of water. Be sure to remove your carbon from the filter, and dose daily for 5-7 days.

    My First Set-up

Only other thing I might add would be an iron supplement. Your heater should be sufficient for the tank, maybe its defective... Just noticed your heater is straight up, try putting it at a 30-45° angle, seems to help get the temp where you want it. Since the warm water isn't just rising up...

The 8 Bosemani rainbows will be fine in your tank. I was more concerned with compatibility with the angel. I've seen some rainbows get aggressive as they mature and though not chronic Finnish nippers, its always a possibility.

    Final Stocking Draft?

You might want to start using r.o. water to help lower your pH. I know much of Texas has liquid rock for tap water. A As for the proposed stock, I would look into one of the smaller rainbows; praecox, forktail, blue-eyed... Other than that, I'd say all is well.

    German Blue Ram Question

They are great community fish. Problem is they need special conditions similar to discus, in order to thrive. pH below 7, relatively soft water and higher temp 80-86°F. Otherwise they mix well with each other and any fish that's not to aggressive.
