They are great community fish. Problem is they need special conditions similar to discus, in order to thrive. pH below 7, relatively soft water and higher temp 80-86°F. Otherwise they mix well with each other and any fish that's not to aggressive.

I've got them in my tank with honey gouramis, cories, cardinal tetra and bamboo and amano shrimp and they all get along fine
