Danios Not Happy With Rummy Nose Tetras

Hi guys have recently added 5 rummy nose tetras to my tank and a couple of my danios are nipping at them and chasing them, am I best to add more danios or more rummy nose tetras? There are 5 danios already so how many should I add? If any?

Depends on the size the tank. Give them a few days and they might settle in.
If you do add more fish, adding a couple more of each, at the same time, would be best.

How many danios do you have and how big is the tank?


Danios are social fish and need to be kept in groups. They are also highly active fish and need to have space to swim. If either condition is not met, they can be a bit nippy (or at least harass other fish and chase them around).

The more danios the better - no less than at least 6 for the reason you are explaining. As long as there are enough they will spend all their time chasing and challenging each other. I am very fond of them as I think they add a lot of movement and interest to a tank.
