Appologies it was a typo :unsure: I meant to say nitrate <5mg/l. i.e. all my usual levels are good, possibly appart from 02 but I can't measure them yet and they may be OK anyway...

But my ammonia levels don't even register on 2 different types of test kit, as indicated by my first post. Surely I'd lose fish is ammonia poisoning was to blame?

Good ideas guys - the natural circulation of the tank has taken it into the path of the bubbles from my powerhead anyway.

Once it's softened up - pretty much all the fish in my tank dive in for this stuff!! My clown loaches love it and it's full of protein :D

What's this T5 lighting I'm hearing a lot about? Is it a brand or a type/colour of light?

If it's local you only need to remember the last 6 or 7 - the first 4 or 5 are for inter-cities/town calls. Besides it's no use having a snappy phone number if you don't have any electricity :P Wonder how many fish have been lost though... :(

They're probably just mineral deposits that have come out of soultion. If you're tank has fish in it just use hot water, if not some form of cleaning fluid followed by a thorough rinsing to get rid of cleaning residues. Try using something acidic if all else fails - maybe a vinegar solution?

I love my cories and they even survived my tank cycle. I'd advise geting at least 2 - they don't grow much more than 2 or 3 cm and they like each others company. Mine never leave each others side :thumbs:

I've just bought a Fluval 104 external filter to suppliment my UGF that wasn't removing small suspended particles from the water. Instead of having 2 powerheads I've removed one, putting the outlet of my fluval in the same position and put the intake in the middle back of the tank, about 10 cms...

I'm not sure your bacteria will cope with such a schedule and you could see your nitrite levels rise?

I've never heard of a spray bar?
