 nother question.....I have a bubble curtain in the back, the length of my tank. Would that be too much water current for angels. They seem Ok with it, but I notice sometimes they relax and flow with the current. Just curious.

Bubble curtain from an air pump shouldn't create too much flow to worry angles...

.....flow from filters/powerheads ...... :/

:)

Everybody must have either a filter outlet or powerhead, so how do you stop introducing too much current into the tank?

You can difuse the current from a filter outlet by using a spray bar to distribute the flow over the surface of the tank.Power heads can be pointed upwards so that the flow is broken up as it disturbs the surface.

I've never heard of a spray bar?

A spray bar is just a tube with a bunch of small holes in it that is above your water line. It's great for the ability to agitate the surface of the water and making it more oxegenated.

Are they called spray bars in the UK?

I must look out/ask for one next time I'm at my local shop....

Yes they are called spray bars here in England,a good lfs should have a selection of different length ones, they should cost under or around a fiver.

Excellent, I may add one to the output of my new Fluval 104, if anything the water shoots out of that at a higher rate than my powerhead on medium setting!

 I'll have to check at Pet Depot here and see if they carry them. I think the tetras with thank me, too. Thanks for the info! :D

Well Fluval only make spray bars for their internal filters it seems.

So I thought I'd buy one, take off the funnel shaped outlet that came with my 104 external filter and shove the spray bar into the rubber adapter that fits on the corregated tubing. The spray bar is too small in diameter.

I had a feeling this would happen - that's why I bought some aquarium silicone at the same time. A couple of rings of this stuff to increase the diameter and bingo! No more knackered angels!! :p

:/ No luck finding spray bars here. Guy at Pet Depot said they could order one to fit my filter. May not have any luck since my filter came from WM with the tank setup. Don't even know if Regent is a decent brand. Anyone have an opinion? :*)
