cons are more agresive than oscars and pirahanas dont just attack random health fish unless thier sick , hurt ,or thier is a lack of food i dont mean to sound rude or any thing but iv been read ing up on pirahanas and learning about them for quite some time know and i carefully checked them out...

i kknow this i was rushing cuz my teacher was comming i was trying to say that the cons wont just attack the ray if it is jus lying in the sand they leave my pleco alone when he cleans the top of their cave and the glass around it the only time they attack is when the pleco is trying to eat...

the only way the cons would bother the ray is if it swam in thier cave or right by the opening and they dont need completly diff rent water p.s in school finish later :fish:

to sex them make them a safe cave u know put plants and rocks around it and they will take it from their :fish:

also since u have sand u could get a fresh water ray they clean the sand :fish:

i dont think you have to get just 1 pair my tank is 55gal and i have a pair with 3 red belly pirahanas and i hardly have any problems unless i stick my hand in the tank and the pirahanas swim into the cons cave then the nip at each other but the pirahanas rather deal with my hand then the cons...

female cons have orange scales on their belly and have rounder fins .the males have just black and white stripes no orange and sharper fins hope i helped :fish:

get a pleco i have 3 reds and they constintly leave heads every where their about 1 and ahalf inches and the pleco is bout 3 inch's but i should have gotin a biger 1 the reds only bother him/her when i dont feed themlots of feeders u should probly get a 5-6 inch one(off topic ) i also have 2...

convicts r definitly the way to go u could even get black convicts and pink convicts get 2 of each and make shore they have caves on opisit sides of the tank cuz they will fight convicts r very agressive i have mine with 3 red belly pirrahnas and i never had a problem :fish:

it s bot that bad to change the water of schedual unless ur tank has all new water in it so if thats the case then dont use tank water but if its like 2 or more months more than just use the tank water and u dont need all that fancy water crap iv been raiseing fish for about 5 years and the only...

the gest kind of alge eater for thick alge is a pleco a regular alge eater is good for small tanks 10-15 gals :fish:

if u realy like the cons than u should try making it a cave and geting it a mate use the fry for feeder fish in ur other tanks .u will just have to wait a lil bit until they become free swimmers and i know using them for feeder fish might sound wrong but thats what would be hapen if they were in...
