Yah a JD will be fine, they arnt very active fish tho and when they get mad, hopefully your cons are big, the pair could hurt him btu i had a male con in with my male jd whos like 9" and the con was forced to live in a like tiny top corner of the tank

yeh and plus rays would need a waaaay more different tank set up and different water perameters, maybe a pleco would be good

the only way the cons would bother the ray is if it swam in thier cave or right by the opening and they dont need completly diff rent water

p.s in school finish later

Cons dont just limit their aggression to their "cave" area. A ray would be the last thing for that tank as they are sensitive fish which need perfect water conditions and wouldnt deal with the Cons attacks.

i kknow this i was rushing cuz my teacher was comming i was trying to say that the cons wont just attack the ray if it is jus lying in the sand they leave my pleco alone when he cleans the top of their cave and the glass around it the only time they attack is when the pleco is trying to eat right in front of the cave other than that the leave him alone the only attack fish that are or that they feel are a threat to them or thier fry but the cons do attack the pirahanas when the even swim at the top of the tank above thir cave because thier a threat other than that thay swim and eat together all the time and i have had no more than 2 lil agresive incounters in the month ive had them together

With both Convicts and pirahanas in the same tank then i would be prepared for many more aggressive if not fatal encounters.

by agresive i dont mean shreaded fins or cuts i mean just nipping or like a kind a takle or head but the pirrahanas usually sim away the only time some fins got bit was when i first put them in and the red's thought thay were lunch big mistake on the red's end not a problem since i watch them as i watch tv avd do home work

I've seen video which showed red bellys attacking and killing a full grown Oscar. The oscar didnt stand much of a chance. Once your RB's get to a decent size they will consider anything in the tank as food. Caves or not, the cons wont last. I'd consider getting a back-up tank just in case things hit the fan.

cons are more agresive than oscars and pirahanas dont just attack random health fish unless thier sick , hurt ,or thier is a lack of food i dont mean to sound rude or any thing but iv been read ing up on pirahanas and learning about them for quite some time know and i carefully checked them out on the web be for i got them pirrahanas are not as brutile as they are said to be they never atept to bite me or bother me unless i have a cut on mey hand and even than they only circle my had 4 a few sec and swim away if my cons are healthey and the reds are well feed witch thay are then the cons will be fine they have yet 2 break the cons skin

:fish:

cons are in my opinion too aggresive to be kept with most fish, they just can't help themselves and will bite anything, even a pirahna with big teeth that may or maynot (but will probably eventually) retaliate. keep an i on them, goodluck.

i understand what you mean the cons will probly be moved to a 30 gal if ican aford it and will be alone because they just had fry yesterday and i may put all thier fry in a 10 gal
