I put frozen blood worms or brine shrimp on a folded paper towel and let it defrost. The towel absorbs the liquid and then goes into the trash bin. Nothing to clean.

I use a Red Sea Nano Filter in a one gallon. Rather than use the supplied media I cut down sponge media from AquaClears and add filter floss.

I think I paid $3-4 each a year ago. Something to keep in mind when feeding is that they have a very small mouth. They they are a gentle fish and need appropriate size food, e.g. Hikari Micro Pellets.

None of my fish have turned their nose to any flake food but currently I am using Hikari Flake Tropical.

I bought a small .25 oz bottle of natural clove oil a couple years ago at Krogers (grocery store) in the baking isle for about $3 when I was making clove hard candies. I didn't realize at the time how it could be used to euthanize fish.
