Hi I added a 24w T5 to the front flap (just drilled 2 holes mounted the clips, reflector etc), or you can buy an I bar which would then give you 2*24w T5's or as someone mentioned before add back to back two clips then you can add another T8/T5 tube attaching it to the existing tube.

Ask to see them eating if there anything like mine they'll take ya hands off. :hyper:

My system I just turn the solenoid down and you can see from the bubble counter it has stopped for about another £75-£100 you can buy fully automated systems with night time shut off solenoids etc.

I used one many years ago in my tank hard to say if it really helped but with a reasonable light source and not too big a tank it certainly wont do any harm. The Maidenhead aquatics shop i visit had one in a small tank and it looked stunning plants looked the db's.

Luckily I have ordered the 2*36W starter and 1 daylight blue (white plus actinic) and 1 daylight plus tube, my only concern is the length maybe a little tight, sweating on that one :blink: If they do go in smoothly I maybe able to squeeze another 36W if need be, otherwise im starting to think...

I have a 50 gallons per day unit, and I change 25ltrs a week my tank is 190 ltrs, my discus seem happy with that sort of routine constant water parameters are most important for discus and a steady ph, I use seachem equalibrium to replace the lost minerals. I drilled 2 holes in the front flap, I then used 2 small screws and nuts which basically holds the reflector to the lid and the tube just slots into the clip the starter unit I used to just rest on a shelf in the cabinet.

Cardinals make good tank mates and they can tollerate the warmer water Rummynose are also ok with discus.

Not really recommended. 10gallons per discus is a good guide I currently keep 4 in my Trigon 190.

Cardinals are good in a tank with discus some corrys on the bottom to help find the uneaten food.Rummynose, harelquiens also are fine. I have sand in the bottom of my tank.

I used a small compact T5 from arcadia I think on my front flap, looking at the ones in your link look pretty good.

they want £54 with filter and light unit which i thought was pretty good, all i would worry about is the light unit, prob not could enough for soft corals.

Hi you can change the normal light unit for a ibar made by arcadia i think, its about £80-£90 then you can run 2*24w T5's, I also added a compact T5 to the front flap of the lid with a reflector, so yup it is possible.

Thanks guys for the responses I have seen some nice cube shaped all in one tanks but the light units worry me, this is why i was thinking of going for a basic tank and adding a DIY hood to allow for T5's, if available can anyone recommend an all in one tank with good lights?.
