I get to do water changes today on my 10 gallon aquarium and my 40 gallon today

I still have to work on several of my other aquarium’s to get them up and running again

Lots of work today it seems

Well, many movies viewed today, 20 years later looks... Primitive. There's some real timeless pearl tho. But Star wars wont ever be one of them.

You are right, the whole series is 13 Books and from 7 the movies lost the story line. And the fans are, Mad. Loll.

But my initial statement about rebel an resistance was more about.

Resistance is something slowing you down, rebels are pushing back.

Whatever story.
I watched Star Wars (the 1st) and still can't remember much of it. battlestar galactica and the star treks were a LOT better. I have the old star treks and babylon 5 on dvd, not fancy graphics. PLOT

One of my favorite star trek series is Voyager, I like the humor and story line.

My "Have to watch" All time favorites are:

24
The 100
American Horror Stories
Band of Brothers
Breaking Bad
Carnivale
Dark Matter
DeadWood
FireFly
Game of Thrones
Generation Kill
Hell on Wheels
KnightFall
LongMire
Millennium
Penny Dreadful
Pillars of the Earth
StarGate Universe
Supernatural
Taken
Vikings
Walking Dead
WestWorld
X-Files

I find these are really outstanding.

I've never seen such a chunky and long video card before  The metal strip above it in the box is the sag bracket! Touching just under 40cm long! Will have to do a DDU before installing as well. I measured it up to my case and it has about 2-3cm of clearance from the front panel fans.

Ya, they can be a close fit. With my Radeon I had to even remove the plastic port protectors for it to slide in.

The Last of Us was incredible. Even though it's just one season (second season coming this year some time)
Not usually something I'd watch, but I did...
What I really liked is the fact that the infection felt very realistic and the people were technically still alive up until the fungus had full control. It wasn't supernatural or anything, just based off of science. I loved nerding out about the cordyceps (real genus of fungi)

That show and Arcane. Arcane is one the best animated works I've seen. The style is so beautiful and the story is incredible with intricate characters.

Yea that and power consumption was the reason i went with the 4070; iti is all about compromise. A long time ago when the 1070 came out i passed on it because it was too long but then they introduced a mini-1070 that was 1/2 the size which was pretty impressive. A few nucc like boxes even used the chip. Prior to that i mostly used ati cards - you all remember ati ;)

I was hopeful the newest amd cards would use less power and therefore be smaller but alas it didn't turn out that way. And the 5 series is ai junk. Never in a million years - anything that sticks on the label ai is just marketing hokey pokey. ai is unfortunately about to ruin a bunch of people lives because they actually think it is intelligent when it is as dumb (or corrupt) as the person loading the knowledge base. You know the old saying garbage in garbage out ;)
A friend of mine has the 4070ti Super and said it's a great card. That was my second option for an Nvidia card after the 5070ti. But Im glad I went back to the red side. I seem to remember some old Radeon card with an ungodly red paint job  pretty sure that was ATI.

I was contemplating waiting for the 9000 series but after the Nvidia release, I decided not to. The market has just been taken over by greedy third-party companies and scalpers. Going for previous Gens seems to be a good option nowadays. Totally agree on the AI point. "Fake Frames" is a major off-put for me.

Today I started a biography on the life of J.S. Bach by Christoff Wolff. J.S. is to music what Shakespeare is to the English language. In between chapters I performed some water exchanges and tinkered with some filter motors.

I am not feeling well today, so mostly doing a bunch of nothing. I did have to pull a dead tangerine shrimp from my 3 gallon cube, though. Not happy about that. I've been pretty consistent with testing the water. I use tap water with them (and the 6 chili rasboras in there with them), but the GH is 6 and the KH is 0 or 1- it turns yellow instantly with 1 drop, so I don't know if that means 0 or 1 since it's 1 drop per degree, but you have to put one in to test, so.... anyway, it's good for them. Nitrate has been consistently 5.

Anyway, I think it just happens... the others are ok.

Also glad to have this stuff to read....I'm reading a book by Erik Larson- The Demon of Unrest. I've read several of his - Devil in the White City, the one about Churchill and the other one about the American family in Germany right leading up to WW2- I think he was an ambassador? can't remember. Anyway, they all read so smoothly, but are well researched and factual (or so I'm told- I just choose to trust LOL).

Have a great day or night or whatever it is right now where you are.

I have a Catholic graveyard across the street. Across the field out back, there's an equal sized Protestant one. If a Walking Dead or zombie from the dead scenario every really happens, they'll meet right beside the fish palace. If I'm caught out there, I'll yell "transubstantiation" and let them fight it out in the snow while I duck back inside. I'm good for surviving all zombie outbreaks with that.

I have many windows at my house, so I don't feel zombie safe, lol. I did offer my clubbers free swimming pool water in exchange for defense, no takers yet...

I visited my terminally ill friend this morning in hospital. She was in good spirits although very tired which is her usual these days. Her family was there too so we all had a lovely visit together, we always have lots of laughs....bitter sweet

Today I rediscovered my lack of experience and relearned the need to research PRIOR to purchase. I am disappointed with myself.

Other than that we bid the grandchildren goodbye and then tried to recover our wits which were quite stretched out by having largely housebound active youngsters under foot. It was a fun week. I was glad to see them come and now I am glad to see them go.
