My sympathy on her passing, but she got to be at home and with you, and that sure beats the hospital.

I am preparing not for snow but for below 0 wind chills and about a 48 hour freeze. My greenhouse wasn't up to that during snowmageddon, and I removed the wet and rotten insulation last summer. About to have to bring some plants inside. Feed a beehive, Arranging chicken things. Fed the ponds. going to walk my dogs

My wife passed away last night at 11:05 PM right here at home and next to me . It was a very peaceful passing .
She is now at peace with the other angels in heaven. It's now time to celebrate her life.
Stay strong in these trying times.

“The clock of life is wound but once,

And no man has the power

To tell just when the hands will stop

At late or early hour.

To lose one's wealth is sad indeed,

To lose one's health is more,

To lose one's soul is such a loss

That no man can restore.

The present only is our own,

So live, love, toil with a will,

Place no faith in "Tomorrow,"

For the Clock may then be still.”

It's hard to get back to the swing of things when people on this thread are thinking about our friend @Back in the fold . You're front and centre in our thoughts.

I was up early, with my usual strong coffee, looking over the bay. The sun is rising red over a tanker taking on its cargo far out across the bay in Mordor, and the lights of the ship look warm. I'll bet the sailors out there are freezing. That has to be a tough job in winter. When I went out back the air was dense and heavy, and it feels like our predicted storm is going to be a good one.

So I'll turn up the heat in the fishroom, in case the freezing rain materializes and knocks the power out, and I'll do some maintenance. If we're lucky, 15 to 25 cm of snow. If we're unlucky, high winds, 10cm of blowing snow, then ice pellets and freezing rain. We're supposed to have a fish club meeting today, but we may have to postpone if the storm follows the expected patterns. If we all total our cars on ice on the way home from it, fish could be hurt.
