What are you doing today?

Yeh, but at least you eventually donate it for wig makers

👍Very little gray at 69…
Well I hedge a bit on age. Actually 68 and~3/4. Won't actually be 69 until October.

Actually a bit odd as to hair color in my family. Some of the old people in my family had awesome hair. My grandma on my mothers side had light hair all her life but when she got old it turned jet black instead of white or grey. My grandpa on my father's side had his hair turn totally white. I don't mean grey or silver. His hair turned as white as a new snow. If my hair changes I'd love to take after my grandpa as his snow white hair was awesome.

My grandmother, and daughter, had significant white hair in their 20s. I dodged that by sensibly going bald.

After a couple of months of stalking all the regional dog shelters, I gave up. Around here, there are very very few homeless dogs, to the point where 2 shelters import dogs from US shelters. I have an uncomfortable feeling they are tied to a puppy mill, as their dogs available are not diverse as strays would be. I'd expect strays to be all kinds of breeds, and these people only offer a few choices. It seems fishy.
Locally, all you can get are pit bull mixes in the shelters. So we got a puppy last week, and my plan for today is simple. I'm going to have fun with my 16 week old retriever.
I'm using my old skills/trade to volunteer as a language teacher for newcomers to Canada, and I have to do a bunch of things for that, then I have to pick up a net I ordered for my upcoming fishing trip. I finished the last of the travel vaccines on Saturday, and have all but one item lined up. The preparation is time consuming, but most good things take a lot of time.
I'm at 10 days between water changes in the fishroom, so that must be done today too. It's shaping up as a good day.

Basically just chilling. With all my family out of state I don't really do a lot for holidays. Will be watching a baseball game in a little over an hour and will have a nice rib eye steak with a pretty loaded baked tater and corn.LOL! A rib eye is the only TRUE cut of steak. Everything else is just solid hamburger. ;)

Letting the rest of the fam and the other family take over the fireworks stand today, spending the 4th with my fiancé and his family

Just ordered a new camera to replace my 12 yer old Canon EOS Rebel T3. Got basically the same camera but a MUCH newer model being a T7.
BTW, the above linked outfit is an awesome resource!

Hope to sell my old T3 for ~$200.00. The old camera DOES have an issue as the battery/SD card compartment cover is broken and has to be taped shut but other than that the camera is like new. Considering that the old camera will include a 16GB SD card and an 18-55mm lens I think $200.00 is fair but might take down to $175.00. Actually I use a 256GB SD card but I will keep that card.

The new camera includes an 18-55mm lens so I lose nothing there. Also includes PaintShop Pro 2022. Being a Canon EOS Rebel series my current 75-300mm telephoto lens should fit just fine.

You have the retired rock star look.

OK, a picture will come but not tonight. LOL! My hair is my last remaining forte. ;) 68 years old and almost no grey.

Actually I'm having an issue with "Locks Of Love", the hair donation system to make wigs for kids going through chemo for cancer. My current place has dropped out of the program. While I can still grow long hair it is getting rather thin as to volume so I MAY end up giving up on doing that unless I find another place that does the program. I'd hate to quit doing as I've been doing for over 30 years.

As to what I'm actually doing today boils down to pretty much nothing, just chilling. ;) I AM going through a couple of GRRRRR things though.
1) I LOVE Yahtzee and just can't find a decent PC version. I have two versions that I play but the logic algorithms are terrible on both. Surprisingly the Hasbro version is the worst. It just gets a bit old when you almost always win. Anyone like the game and know of a decent version?

2) Giving up on baseball fans that don't have a clue. The fans for my Cleveland Guardians are complaining as to their play yet the team is tied for first place. This is with the fact that they have had several rookies as starting pitchers due to injuries. Right now they are with a better record than last year and they won the division by 11 games.
Nice of you to donate. As we get older our body makes less oils and our hair gets drier with more breakage that could be thinning it out. You could try Pantene conditioner, if you want your luscious locks back. :band:
