What are you doing today?

Tomorrow I have to take my juvenile fish to the pet store... Dang. I honestly didn't think I'd be real sad about it.
Guess it's just part of raising them when you don't have enough space for more...

Observing my new Blue Phantom Plecos. Pretty little guys with pale blue polka dots and blue fins. A guy in the local Facebook group imports several species from Central America and has 50 tanks in his basement. He has quite the list of fish.

I LOVE Blue Phantom Plecos! Such a beautiful pleco!

I am trying to grow some seeds from some giant bromeliads near a park. one seed pod has like a hundred seeds in it!
100 percent germination since they were so fresh, but I don't know what I am going to do with hundreds of bromeliads that will grow like 4 feet tall LOL
I also found some jacaranda seed pods and they have sprouted, and I tried a raw macadamia seed and mexican sweet lime seeds.
I just transferred them outdoors, so i really hope they survive.
I'll post photos when i have time!

Wow, you live in a different world. When I got home today it was about 5 degrees F, with six inches of new snow on top of the 2-3 feet already there. Meanwhile, the neighbor kids are out in the street tossing a football around in shorts and sweatshirts.

join a plant group that has swaps. That's what I do. I also am a member of a local FB group so I can give away my surplus phlox when I thin it

Today it's going up to 10c/50f, and I went to a dentist appointment with the car window rolled down and the wind blowing through my eyebrows. I came home and opened some windows to air the house out, and I'm pretending it's Spring.

It isn't and we'll be below freezing with snow tomorrow, but these breakthrough days are good for the morale. The days are getting longer, the sunlight is getting stronger. 2 weeks ago, bright sunshine meant cold, but we've turned a corner. The sky and the sea are both blue, and it's warm. The snow is melting fast.

Well today here in the US Northeast, where the temperature is usually around 40 this time of year during the daytime, it is going up to 64 F . It will feel like spring today. But it wont stick around long as we head back to seasonal temperatures.
We have had about 6 inches of snow all season. By this time we normally would have at least 40 inches or more. Not much shoveling needed this year.

Didn't sell them for how much I wanted to a piece but yah... Their sold now.
I have a thread up about it as well for more pictures and a bit more info

Today I’m contacting table and chair rental places, researching the best tent rental, phone consultation with a videographer, and shopping for supplies and decor.
Finding the best deals on dishes and place settings, table cloths and napkins. Who to hire for cooking our food since we are foregoing professional catering so we can have the meal we want. Researching a gluten free/egg free/dairy free bakery. So much to do 😁 but oh so worth it

spent the day waiting to see what mechanic finds wrong with my truck. Foundation guys were under my house. trying to find the septic tank to save $100 tomorrow when I get it pumped. All this flooding hasn't done my house any good

Feeling like my life is fulfilled! ;) Just found out that HBO MAX has a remake of the old Perry Mason TV show. I still watch the old re-runs of Perry Mason with Raymond Burr. If this remake is half as good as the old shows it will be good. :)

I still watch a lot of these old shows such as Diagnostic Murder with Dick Van Dyke and Matlock with Andy Griffith. With streaming and cable I have I don't even know how many channels but often think there was more quality stuff when I had an antenna on top of the TV with 6-8 total channels. It is like there is no originality anymore. Even the movie Avatar (which I love) is really just a remake of the old animated movie Fern Gully.
