I just don know why it cant be done electronicly, ive just heard theyve lost loads of ballots in york :\

electronic formats would be too open to tampering IMO, although paper ballots are open to tampering as well we all remember the Florida votes :p

tell you what though Adam Bolton just proper killed a woman from the electoral commission...... did not envy her

Polls are off, lets hope by the time i we all get up in the morning it isnt a tory government lol

If we expect all elligible people in the country to vote, then the system we use has to be able to cope.

Tonight has just provenbthat it can't.

If we can't even run the election where are we?

I'm starting to wonder why I care about the government.

My vote doesn't really matter anyway. I'm a lib dem supporter, in an area which is pretty much a 100% secure lib dem seat. Whether I vote or not won't matter.

And even though my area will have lib dem on their seat, it won't make a blind bit of difference to the national level.

I'm actually hoping for a hung parliament now.

A hung parliament may just kick people into realising how much needs to change. The list would be endless so there's no pointveven starting it.

Needless to say, I'm not happy with how the election has been handled.

I wouldn't mind if mr brown was left in power, so long as we can sort out the issues which have plagued this elections.

Maybe just a little premature...? :sly:

Even with a hung parliament all the signs point to conservative getting the most seats, just not enough for a majority.

I really hope we don't end up with cameron though.

Strange situation now, with libdem / labour joining they only have a few more seats than the tories...

The electoral system does need to be made better in some way...not sure how though...

Interesting times It looks like the unelected one gets the chance to stay in No10 "God help this country"

Nick Clegg was wearing an orange tie this morning, I wonder if that indicates anything lol

Lol good point! If Gordon Brown stays in power will that make him the first priminister in history to be in power over two terms where he wasnt explicitly elected?

hung parliment...why doesn't the one with most votes win

simples.

Yep, I agree, it couldn't be argued against by the general public and would the the decisive conclusion, although parliament with no majority party would be dithering on issues I think...

I seriously can't see how Labour or Lib Dems could justify a lib lab setup, as currently even when their votes are combined they are not a majority party.

I just dont believe its right that a party that did not win can stay in No.10.
