ok just tested for ammonia and no real surprise, pretty much same as yesterday, around 5ppm

was away last night but check the water just now when i got home

0 ammonia
off the chart nitrite

so coming along nicely, will raise the ammonia again now.

How you getting on?

well had a ph crash yesterday but boosted it back up.

im guessing ammonia is being processed in about 48 hours

nitrite is off the chart and stil waiting for a reading of nirtate, maybe tomorrow

so its coming along

another bit of an update:

ordered the wood which will be the focal point of the tank from aqua esentials and also the silver vynal that i bought to line the lid to help reflect some light should come tomorrow

also i might get another starter for a 38w light to add a bit more light to the tank, still undecided on that however

Can I be cheeky and ask for some before and after pics of the foil please difference. I may do this myself. :good:

Cheers

heres a tank shot with all the lid in place and lights on

then this is the top of the tank with light and lid on.

and then top of tank with the light on but the 2 lid pieces off. shows how much light would be hitting the lid pieces when they are in place. so with the foil on, the light should bounce back into the water

i may also put some on behine the light tubs as the ones there at the moment are just white

make sure you use the same shutter speed for the comparison, otherwise your camera will automatically choose a setting to get the correct exposure (it will be faster due to more light inside the tank, hopefully!)

Sorry if you know this but just making sure to get the correct idea.
