I sent him an email that said simply That's cruel. No reply, but I;m still compiling an ebay complaint really what should I do? Explain why its unsuitable? or just rant and rave? what?

I've emailed someone on ebay b4 that was selling those things and he pretty much told me to go screw and i also got a harrassment warning from ebay lol. I was really nice though. hmmm, maybe i'll pop peta an email with his ebay id and link.

btw, i didn't think spring water needed dechlor

well, I mean do you have to be a member of peta to report things like that, or is it like an aspca?

Those things are not tanks--they are the glass blocks people use to build fake windows with in houses and other buildings with what must be a hole in the top. Those things are way too small for a Betta!!!
EBay will allow just about anything to be sold on it just so they can profit off of it.

i wouldn't imagine so. maybe if several people email them we'd get a better response as well. i don't know how many issues they take on because there are so many but when they do they are a wopping pain in the bum to animal abusers

well lets do it! Everyone who reads that has an eBay account, complain the eBay. EVERYONE email PETA!

EDIT: I'm sorry but some animals God intended for us to eat.

maybe some one can write a letter and post it here and we call all use it (not me lol) to email them.

well i don't think god intended us to stick any animal in a less than 1/2g container for profit.

here's the letter I sent to ebay...

Dear eBay representatives,

This letter is to inform you of a few items on your site that are cruel to betta fish as a whole. The item numbers are as follows: 4386631933; 4386107398; 5980261680; 4387289166; 4386694399; 4385968834; and 4386673674.

In all of the above mentioned, the size is unacceptable to keep a healthy betta. If a person doesn’t give them a fresh change of water every week, the animal could suffer greatly due to the rising amounts of ammonia. Also, bettas can grow to be around 3’’ and a 3’’ fish will not be able to move around in these tight quarters. Another problem with them is the oxygen consumption compared to the amount of oxygen in the water.

In a few of these items, there isn’t a lid. Bettas can jump from bowls like these, and if the owner is not around, the betta will die b/c they will jump out.

In one in particular (the very first one) the way he goes about placing the betta in the container is the worst part. He placed a funnel in a small hole in the lid and poured him through it like he was liquid. This not only stresses the fish, but also tears them, creating an opened door for bacterial infections. The meds for these type problems will also cause unneeded costs for the owner.

In the wild, bettas live in rice fields and other larger bodies of water. They don’t, however, live in half an ounce of water. I would like for these members of eBay to be informed that their products are not betta boxes, but death boxes, and are unacceptable. I would like it if you took this a step further and removed these products from your site (and others I have not found), and give the owner/creator a stern warning.

Thank you for your concerns,

(signed)

well, when filing a complaint they require item numbers. But they only allow one. So in the box I put the first one and told 'em about all of them.

No no no, misunderstanding...

Peta is a vegitarian thing. I personally dont agree with that. It says in the bible that certain animals are here for us to eat. That;s what I was talking about. I fully agree with the 1/2 oz of water thing. That's sickening! If they'll take care of the betta things, more power to them.

I do agree with them about how the slaughtered animals are mistreated. That is sickening as well. There isn't any other term for the "harvesting" of those animals but slaughter
