Here is a good place. I have bought from these guys before, they were great. They have a decent selection on plants too, and since you have to overnight the bio spira, you might as well order some plants too. It is also worth noting that certain water conditioners will render bio spira ineffective. I'm not sure which ones exactly, but I know prime does do this. I have used Amquel with no side effects though. There was a guy who wrote marineland and they said which water conditioners were not safe to use. I think marineland's reply might have been posted on mfk or piranha paradise.
Aye, I'll probably get it from that site, unless a more opportunistic chance arises....
Trying to solve a bit of a ph mystery at the moment, ph 8.8+ in the tank at the moment. Considering my tap usually runs 7.4-7.6...That's a pretty hefty jump.
Got the new light system in...Very much underwhelming, visibly the original fixture is much brighter, and this one give off a very blue-ish tint, is this normal?
Reply to your other question is on my other topic in tropical chat.
Bluish tint is gone...I'm an idiot and did not realize that one of the connector pins on the white bulb was bent..therefore not lit.
The biowheel came in today. I have it set up and running, it's very quite... which works well for me. Just gotta get some biospira and heater still...It will have fish in it eventually...hopefully
What type of light fixture and filter did you end up buying? How much did you pay? Have you made a final stocking (fish and plants) plan yet? Can't wait to see this tank when it's finished.
The light fixture is from a company " Fish need it " it ran me 60$. The filter I'm running now is the biowheel 350 ( 30$ I think? ), and I will get a 2215 in a few weeks. Have not cut the fish list from stone yet, still the same as last update. Plants are still up in the air. I still need to sandblast the bark off a few pieces of my wood too.
