If it is diatoms then the BN's will clear them in no time.

The 144 is gorgeous. Makes me want one now. :D

WOAH! I was worried someone would tell me Albert and Alfred are girls  Or one of them. I just can't work it out. Well, I suppose once I add to the shoal and both of them lay eggs I'll know for sure

Yes, regarding the harlequins. I knew they were some special ones, got them all from the same source and apparently they are not easy to get hold off. They are very active and zoom across the tank back and forth, will have videos of that tomorrow.

The L144 is also a special one. I was worried about his black spot that is growing with him, but after googling I found out that he has the original wildcaught bloodline in him (or something thereabouts), so that makes him extra special. He is very active and happy to raom the tank.

Stupid question - diatoms is algae, right? Is this what is making my plants look a bit pants?

I'm leaning towards them both being ladies :) Yeah they are espei, same as mine! :D

Yeah diatoms are algae I got them too when my tank was first set up but the BNs annihilated it!

So, here is the update of the Rio 125. A bit less pictures, as they are more boring at the moment, but once I grow my moss and add my possible rams there will be more action in the house.

William and Catherine doing their touchy, touchy, feely, feely thing. They do it all the time, but no babies yet :(

And now just a few FTS with the dwarf rainbows and neons. As I said, this tank is more boring at the moment.

You also want to see some Malawi shots? :hey:

LMAO! That was an accident!

If I hadn't of been looking for the BNs...I can blame that whole kerfuffle on you!

Looove your gouramis
wub.gif
and you know how I feel about the rainbows :p

That told you AA

I don't know, I find the gouramis a bit bland. That's all they do all day, just touch each other. At least give me some babies to watch and get excited about

Ok, now that I have merged three journals into one I might aswell add the Malawi tank pictures. Just sorted through them and I got a few good ones. I will in the future though add the best of photographs in the correct section so I don't get told off :p ;) :hey:

As I said before, this is a Vision 260. It had no lights (but can't complain with such a bargain), but nothing my man can't sort. We got a temporary light for now and will get a proper unit sometime later. Or not. It actually looks good as it is.

Pretty limpopo sand  Can I just add (and I know I am childish), I always have to laugh at the word limpopo. Especially as popo in German means bottom

And now time for my first malawis. I got them all from the same guy and they lived (or better the parents live) in the same tank so I trust him and hope I got good ones.

Red Rubins, Reuben and Scarlett

Forgot the names of them  Can anyone ID or I'll ask him. Still need names for them.

I also got three grown red zebras (Apollo, Aphrodite and Artemis) which are beautiful. No separate pics of them, but you will see them in the 'group shots' further down.

Now the best - the algae waver battle. I fed the malawis first and then chucked in an algae waver and all hell broke lose. They fought for it like crazy. Seriously, it's just ALGAE!!!

The duel (plec won this one)

You gotta fight!

And the winner is.... Apollo! He then happily swam around for like half an hour with that stupid waver in his mouth. Might enter him in FOTM too

lol nice. He likes his trophy :p Super jealous. You are doing all the tanks I want. I have been in love with Malawi tanks since I got into the hobby.

umm, another tank, jeez#, have you got any mature filters yet? :D this is bordering on insane fish addiction

Go on then, I know you want to :hey:

Addicted? Addicted? Me? Erm, yes  Yes, filter was thankfully mature, got it from someone at my local FB group. And the Rios are staying stable due to me using all the other filter media I had before and splitting it between the two.

and there's nooooo cure!
There is! Lack of space in the house. I could have more, but that would mean getting rid of the dog. Or child. Or man

are we still planted??
If it helps, I might put one or two anubis on the rock at some point :shifty:

Ooops, some more albino cories have jumped into the tank today. Honestly, it wasn't me  They are doing well and are rummaging around with Albert and Alfred. Or should I better say Alberta and Alfresca
