Rob's 3X2X2

Did you take any pictures Rob?

Trod has got mine at the moment so I can't check - but will take a look when I get it back home :good:

:fish:

PS or Trod, maybe you could have a look

no sorry didn't think about it at the time, but when you take it apart its all pretty obvious.

Nice pair of Gobiodon okinawae. Are the co-habitating fine for you.
Was thinking of getting one or two of those a while back. Look nice in small aquariums
Keep an eye on them though if you have SPS they like to make their home & breed in such. whereby annoying the coral.
Beautiful little fish though and the aquarium is a real beauty.

yeah they have paired up and are currently looking to breed in my acropora.
they keep nipping at the middle of it!
its a big enough coral to withstand this though so i don't mind, and if they successfully breed it'll definitely be worth it.

Cool :good:

just done some tests as am about to do a water change.
usually do a water change on saturday or sunday but am running a bit late this week.
Never the less calcium is at 425 and nitrates are 0!

think its the first time i've ever had a tank that has 0 nitrates, (it never happened in the nano!)

will continue to do weekly water changes as i feel there are many elements that we don't test for that get used by the corals we keep, however its good to know that if i do miss a water change it isn't going to matter much!

looking good rob...great pics.

My tanks finally at zero nitrates too...theres nothing swimming in it, but zero is still zero :good:

:( bit sad, we had our first casualty last night. the male clown decided to jump out of the tank over night.
no idea why. the tank is open top, but they've been in there for quite a while now with no problems.
think the wife is a bit upset. we've had them for over 18 months.
think she's gonna nip into a LFS on her way home from work and try and get a replacement.

on another note i found what looked like a spider in the sump last night!
not got a clue what it is.

the sump really does seem to be full of animals at the moment:
various shrimps (some pretty big)
asterina starfish
bristle stars
various worms
what look like little red mites
various little snails
baby stomatella
sponges
some green star ployps (no idea where they came from!)
and some aiptasia ( :( )

i guess these are all in the main display as well but i just don't see them.

Sorry to hear about the clown...this is going to my worst nightmare finding a fish has jumped...especially with my cats! Did your cats not run off with it?
I bet sophilene will come back with more than just a clown though!

Sorry about the clown :rip: Not nice losing a fish.

Glidergirl may be right, you may end up with more than a baby clown from the lfs (especially if she goes on her own).

Aiptasia = Blow torch, get the nasty little son of Bleep.

nope cats never found it, think they tend to sleep with us most of the night anyhow.

yeah its quite likely she'll come back with something else!

removing the aip is pretty easy as they are just attached to bits of caulerpa and other macro algae so can be easily removed.

Ok so i met my wife at the LFS after work and we've gone a bit fish crazy!

we've got a replacement for the clown that died last night in the shape of a black&white mis-bar clown. very cute and has paired up straight away with our original female so thats good news.

we've also come home with a bi-colour blennie and a dot-dash blennie.

we've also reserved (to pick up next weekend i think) a red spot flymo blennie and a long nose hawk fish.

bit of an increase in bio mass over a short period of time ( waiting for the back lash from you guys) but hopefully the amount of rock i've got should soak it up pretty quickly.

also increased the CUC with 3 nassurius and 6 astrea snails.

will try and get pics of the new guys over the weekend.

I knew you would come back with more than just the clown, I was thinking in the form of corals though

EDIT This blasted wirless keyboard keeps missing the beginning of my sentences off.
