Planned Fry Journal Just For Fun :)

Oh I thought you meant they were messy that's why I was thinking to myself but they are clean up crew lol. Would they be ok with guppies? I really wanted some, they would look stunning against the black substrate.

Thanks for that! It does indeed have a tick. Would save me the 3rd tank lol.

I would definitely recommend getting some shrimp as they are great cleaners!
I don't really like shrimp but after researching them a little I think I will have to get some to help keep my tank clean! :)
Can we see some more pictures of the fry?

Thanks for the feedback.
Blondie-I will definitely look into getting the cherry shrimp. They are adorable!
Supraman-I prefer it like this now, at least they have space to swim!

I will post pics of the fry after I drop the little one at nursey. The one I was concerned about has a more pronounced curve now, I won't be able to capture it with my iphail camera since I moved I can't find my other camera but will try getting good pics. Like I had said in a previous post it doesn't affect this fry at all, he keeps up with his brothers and sisters and swims well.

That sounds good! Upon further research I found that Shrimp are very rarely sold in Pet Shops in New Zealand, looks like I will have to think of something else to clean my tank. :/
Looking forward to the pictures! :)

Don't get snails!!! I had about 5000!!!
Oh that's a shame. I am trying to get a local breeder, the ones online are cheap but it's £15 delivery!
The pics have been uploaded to photobucket, I am away to get my little one she finishes in 10 minutes, be back soon and you can see my fry!

So here are the pics!
I think the older ones are 2 weeks old and the smaller ones are a week.
The fry furthest on the right is massive I suspect it's going to be female!

Googly eyes!

Spot the fry. The white dots are the amount of food my little one dumps in! I changed the water as the tank was filthy!

More pics up soon!

I did a bad thing. I went to my LFS to get a few more twisted vallis and spotted some all white platies with black tails labelled panda platies. I have only ever seen these online. There were only 2 a boy and a girl and they kind of jumped in my car and came home with me

I am hoping for some lovely black and white babies from this pair but that will be a separate thread!

I don't have any pink blinging thing in the tank-it's the reflection of my phone cover lol

You're silly! Stop picking up hitchhikers. ;)

Lol I know, I know! I am a sucker for a pretty fish!
As you know, I have a shoal of rasboras. Unfortunately it's not working out. My male guppies keep nipping them. The 2 smaller ones hide in the plants and the guppies hunt them out I don't know if they maybe think they are fry. They don't move very much either I love them so much but I do have to admit I think they would be better off in a bigger, longer tank.
I have a knowledgeable man coming tomorrow. He is taking them off me. I spent a good while speaking to him on the phone and he's asking how long my filters been up, how many times I do a water change, the size and colouration of the fish etc. He has a custom built tank from a local company where I was going to go as they are very cheap and good quality tanks.
We also discussed a variety of lfs's and how he would never buy a fish from pets at home/dobbies. I thought dobbies have been fine. Anyway he seems to know his stuff so he is welcome to them. He is also local and I will keep in touch so I know how they are doing.
Now all I need to do is get him to sign up here ;)

I'm guessing the nipping is related to tank size. As you know guppy are divas and don't like to share unless there's plenty of room!

I am very, very surprised at them. I have seen male/male aggression in guppies and that can be quite brutal but never on other fish. I am really sad to have to rehome the harlequins but it's not fair on them. I will have a look into the local company that make tanks.
Pets at home have 20% off all tanks but I have car tax to buy at the end of June at £235 so I really can't upgrade yet :(
As for my other fish, they seem quite happy, swimming against the filter stream, pecking at the wood, taking peas from my hand-nipping my arm when I have to rearrange the wood!
This is why I  love guppies they are so playful and full of character and eager to interact! Here's to happy, bold fry!
