Operation Marine 2.........now 3

Well i have finally gotten the remainder if my live rock and not too soon as my tangs are growin fast. Got 30kg includignsome plating pieces, nothig massive but noticable if ya get me. It's basically in 2 bommies at minute as I transported it bk without water due to being on my own in car. This turned out to be a good move due to some dodgy driving by others on way home. I plan to scape a new tank better but with the prospect of being made redundant and not many jobs up for grabs that's on hold.

Copper band is loving it others went into hiding and stayed there lol

happy days :good:

now wheres the pics!!!

will get some tomorrow, but its nothing spectacular as its been pretty wll dumped in there, as i still plan an upgrade, although i could pull the rock out and rescape if i ever have enough time

ok new full tank shot

Sorry to hear about upcoming redundancy. Really looking forward to seeing what you dowith all that lovely new rock :good:

How long have you had the Copperband and hows it doing?

Seffie x

the copperbands been in there just over a month maybe a touch longer no sign of a single Aip now and he/she has established itself with the tangs...more so the yellow and now they merrily swim around together

and why is it things turn up when you cant really have them. a 6x2x2 tank and 4 ft sump is available 15mins away from me

a feeding time video from earlier, my yellow tang is a little shy lol

Enjoyed that, thanks for posting - your Copperband is a beauty :good: did you buy from a lfs or a reefer?

Seffie x

bought it all beat up from LFS thats also got a shop down your way in a garden center. all his/her fins were nipped and white on the edges from trying to grow back but getting nipped again and i wanted something to remove my aips as no success with aip x or peps so thought why not. I know that i have the pod life to support my mandy and i had plenty of aips for it to feed on aswell. If i couldnt have gotten it to feed on frozen i would have moved it on to someone. but it eats frozen fine and i'm sure there are aips still not visible to myself that it keeps in check.

added some arcadia reflectors to my standard jewel tubes today to use the wasted light i had.

Also bought some putty for a rescape if i ever have a day off from work

Ordered some 10mm acrylic rod today from the bay. Thought I'd rescape this tank as an upgrade is out if the question again due to being made redundant in the not to distant future..... Get a proposed leavig date later today(thursday)

How you doing?

Seffie x

well my leaving date is 7th Sept but can be moved back if they are delayed but i dont have to stay after that date if i have another job lined up. The good news is that i would actually leave on the 30th august as i am away in las vegas with my wife from 2nd Sept :hyper:

Tank wise, getting phosphates down nicely with rowaphos changing roughly every 4 weeks. Added reflectors to my 2 T5 tubes usable light is much better and visible.

Acrylic rod has arrived just got to find time to actually pull everything out of tank and rescape. Not sure whether to leave fish is or remove think would be more stressed if i took them out. I dont plan on scaping the left side too much as i have a very open bommie already that side it just needs tidying up. Want a column of rock on RHS hence the rod.

Finally fitted my Pressure valve and float valve the other day. slimline 100L waterbutt fitted lovely into the space where i had 3 25L jerry cans so no more room used up brownie points with the wife there. Pressure valve connected to the RO unit, easy to follow instructions and fitted the float valve into the water but quite near the top but not all the way. RO unit on held float up manually and voila waste shut off RO unit ceased production, no more wet floors :good: :good:

SO now i can turn it on and not worry about turning it off manually or having to plan when to produce water in a 4hr gap. I can leave it on for 8hrs+ and get a load of water ready.

Your copperband is looking lovely, specially considering the condition you originally rescued it from.

Redundency sucks... though if you find work soon enough, maybe the redundency pay will cover the "time off" (it did for me, all 9 months of it...), if anything I am in a better position because of it. :good:
