Also tracked down to excellent Live rock with a massive 20" plating piece weighing in at 15KG on its own for £5/KG gonna get 40kg of it and hold it in a water butt, until new tank arrives, after i hae moved the current tank to the dining room to allow for carpet fitting and new tank placement.

That will give me roughly 60-70KG of Live rock with more i have in dry storage if i wish to seed it at some point.

Yup, that Deltec sure looks the business. Depending on its age, you might need to replace the impeller in it but, that's only if its making a noise or the skimmers not functioning properly.

That looks grand :good: and what a good find with the rock

just waiting to hear back from the seller about it

i got his old MCE600 off him to skim my previous (rio180) and Current (Rio400) tanks although well used the ceramics and impellor were in excellent shape.

I am yet to strip this one down and check etc but it was running without a hicup on his system until a few months ago when he shut it down....glad he didnt sell it on.

Think i may try gravity feeding it to start with can always chuck a pump on it if it doesnt work too well.

Deal for 40KG on live rk from a break down done £4.75/kg i ended up paying. One huge plating piee weighing 15kg is mine too its roughly 20" long not sure how wide. and 25kg of usual LR shapes.

Pik it up either this weekend or seller willing to hold it for another week or so.

Operation 2 tank is being moved tomorrow......hopefully to the dining room to allow me to get the old laminate up and get the new arpet laid, then i can order the new tank!!

Didnt get this tank moved today, turns out i was rather tired and slept for 16hrs!!

aim is to move it saturday after done some overtime at work.

Tank still not moved trying tomorrow now.

Had to pass up on that great LR deal too as discouvered the dishwasher was bust and in our house its a neccesity so the money for the rock has to go on a new dishwasher.

Yeah, saw that you had trouble with dishwasher on UR rock thread - thats a real pain isn't it. have to agree though, you got to have a dishwasher

I'd have to the LR and bought the wife a new pair of marigolds :p

and I would now be divorced & homeless lol.

Had to buy a brand new expensive carpet and decorate as part of my upgrade so don't wanna push too far lol, although she is turning more attention to the fish tank now so I might accidentally order a 6x2x2 instead of the 5x2x2 and see if she notices.

well i have to admit that i have yet to move the tank, me and the boss decided to do it on saturda as we have given ourselves a day off from work saturday (usually overtime in the day as work nights during week)

I did go to a diy store and pickup 2 100L slimline waterbutts to hold mos tthe water from the tank so i can reuse it. I also found 2 80L square storage boxes that were food safe too so Live rock and fish going in those with rest of the water, have a few jerry cans to hold the rest.

after the tank move i will be using the water butts to produce larger amounts of RO over night with auto shut off swithces installed at a set level in the butt, this way i will have RO whenever i need it and not have to lose 4hrs of my life waiting for a jerry can to fill with 25L and turning off manually. ( i require a few meters of RO tubing to bring the RO unit closer to the waterbutts but will get that soon)

Well the tank is now moved! What an effort!

Nit sure how my regal is going to be inthe morning though as seemed very stressed when put bk in. Was laying on side alot and seems to have burnt itself
on the heater I had in the huge tub I was holding fish in too:(

I fear I will wake tomorrow to find a rather spotty regal :'(

Great the tank is moved - and where are the pictures of two men struggling with a five foot tank

Bit, fingers crossed for the regal
