Operation Marine 2.........now 3

little update,

tank doing well, found a trace of nitrite thinking my firefish was dead inside a raock, even though i looed thoroughly for it when transferring stock etc. Gott a bit of money to spend this weekend and need to buy some more CUC so 10-15ceriths and same in nass snails will be purchsed if i can track some down at a LFS otherwise it will be mail order
 
congratulations, its looking fab Re, the RO from LFS.. i had the same problem

they sold me water with high phosphates (1) and nitrates.. i was very angry with them- and didnt hold back on telling them either!!
i suggest you get back to them, tell them to test there water inc TDS ( though you probably should have asked for this before you bought it) and then if it was their RO that caused the problem, tell them to get the membrane changed and they should offer to provide you with free RO till your problem is sorted ( assuming you are chosing the WC method of getting it down)- mine did, though i didnt take them up on the offer i bought my own unit instead-infact i wouldnt touch that LFS again with a bardge pole-sheer laziness on the part of the staff is why they sold me "bad" water.

Tank is running ok, micro bubbles from my external are annoying me though use it to run my Phos reactor and there is no sponges or anything in it, but plans are underway for another upgrade :rolleyes: :hey:

Have a Regal and Yellow tang residing in there now and a pair of mandarins who are both doing really well and feeding off of pods that are in the tank and frozen!!

anyway more about the upgrade plans

a 5x2x2 with sump, twin standpipe, central weir, black silicone, beech cabinet with slimline pelmet & closed hood.

Deltec APF600 skimmer ( getting monday from a mate £100)
eheim compact 5000+ return
Deltec phos reactor ( already own)
D-D razor Twin 80W T5 lighting adding LED arrangements to this when funds are back up to a good level
20-30KG more Liverock
 
yeh but i got alot of work to do before i ca order it.

Wife wants the front room decorated first

i gotta cutout a 6x3' part of the laminate and level the floor with concrete then tiles on top of that to form a nice level base for the tank to sit on.

Carpet will be laid around this tiles bas so can change to carpet whenever we need to without the need for the tank to be messed around with.
 
Oh just ignore me, I meant front room :blush: I just know AK is going to say something about this!! Maybe he wont notice :lol:

Just ignore her Ren. She's been drinking the tank water again and gets a little delusional from time to time :no:. We're trying to code it so that whenever she logs on here, her IP address is flagged and she's re-directed to her own little bit of forum, where she can play on her own for hours. :good:

well maybe i should start a thread operation Front room lol

GOtta move the current tank out to the dining room then get carpet laid then get new tank in and stock all transferred over again.

gonna take the opourtunity to get rid of the aiptasia that i still have too.
 
Well got some aiptasia x from red sea today not tried it yet, really only wanted it for the syringe as I found success with lemon juice and kalck paste.

Also ordere the carpet to start upgrade.
