New Scape (60L).... Now .... ' Iwagumi Without A Twist '

Thanks for the positive words hun.... with any luck it wont have to happen but if so then, so be it :)....

Yeh the filter is last on my priority list so fish weather they did care would have to lump it ;) lol.

Sorry to hear about your problems by the way but a 5-1 record against parvo is usually pretty unheard of.. definitely some fighters you have there :good:

Thanks again x

No problem. Will keep you and the furbaby in my Ts&Ps.

What amazed me the most about the parvo was that the vaccinated older pup got the sickest and required the most intense treatment. The vet didn't even know what the lil unvaccinated guys even HAD until she got sick, too. Well, I say it amazed me, but due to my experiences with my kids, both 2 and 4 legged, and the research I've read while dealing with the aftermath, I've sworn off vaccines completely. This was just more icing on the cake.

Thankyou :).... Fortunately i have an excellent vet who really is helpful in every way possible.... not had problems myself with 'serious life threatening' illness but i do know many that have. The vaccine side i really have no idea about, my partner deals with that side due to me been useless lol

As long as my babies both 2 leg and 4 leg are fine, happy and healthy... im happy no matter what the cost :).

Thanks again :)

has this been shut down Jake?

No mate, i have just rescape to a more traditional iwagumi..... i found one of my old JBL regulators out which i thought was binned, so once i get time i think im gonna use it on this and go pressurised. I may even up the lighting due it being so poor.

The nano has been closed because i have brought a slightly bigger tank (only 60l but was a bargain so couldn't refuse ;)) so will get that going soon with any luck.... not sure what i will be doing there yet though... maybe a walstad or biotope tank maybe  , not sure yet.

Will get some pics up of the new layout in abit, didn't finished till late-ish yesterday and then i needed it to settle. Nice and clear now though.

I like the new layout just as much and will suit a proper carpet so if i up the lighting i will most likely op for HC :).

this is looking really well

Cheers mate, although it is looking completely different now, i still like it although my other half preferred the previous scape, i'm undecided to be fair.... i like them both but this has the better layout for a HC carpet :).

Still need to get an external and also a black backing.

Looks nice, although maybe the substrate could have been banked more, the hardscape looks a little small.

The banking can be done with the HC, i have a sort of plan of an uneven hc carpet which should give a much less level look. I can also add rear banks at a later date... once the blyxa fills out in different sized bunches it should look much better (has fingers crossed lol)

Scape being small is a funny one, the tank is taller than i would prefer for an iwagumi layout, the actual scape is perfect (size wise) when it comes to width but height is more an issue because of the tank depth. So really if the tank was about 2 -3 inches shallower it would look 10x better and would give the whole aspect/look abit more depth... unfortunately with this tank i cant do anything about that :/

Nice mate, but I preferred it the way it was to be honest.

I did, too.

Don't worry peeps my other half preferred it the other way aswell lol.... i actually like it this way alot, i can see the finished layout once the plants grow and i think once it fills out and i get the co2 setup on it with HC growing.... it will look really nice.

The outer sides of the substrate is about 4 inches all round, im going to dip (remove some) which will give a sort of hill type feel which will take the flatness away.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

I think it will look awesome if you make it less slope more island, like making the stony part the deepest and bringing the slope down towards the edges but still having the back deeper than the front, your choice tho but I think that would look amazing.

I trust your inner vision :good: .

That's what i like to see, confidence ;).

Cheers for the suggestion Steve, might have a little play with your idea once im ready to add the HC :good:

Just a quick update on plant growth, still slow as to be expected under the low lighting but it is growing and filling out :)
