Luc's First Planted Tank

Nice! Though I think there isn't enough background plants...

Thank you, I am still looking for more background plants to fill in the space but no rush. :)

Great yet again Luc :)

I just emptied my 2foot tank ready for total redo tomorrow :hyper:

Getting some nutrient substrate and i also upgraded my lighting around a week ago just over 2WPG

I saw everything you done to your 2foot tank and thought i should try it too!

Very insperational

Cant wait to get mine planted :) Hehe

Thanks alot

Richie

Thank you Richie, so happy to know that you like the tank. I wish to see your tank after redo... :)

Good luck yeah... :)

Got it started will put a journal on here just now :)

Well a journal of what i have done soo far hehe!

Thanks

Richie

Congratulations Richie, happy to know that you have done it... cant wait to see it... :)

GOOD JOB.

I have just done a moss wall for my tank, the whole process has gone well and it is up now... Not sure how long will it takes to grow out.

I have 2 flying foxes are attacking the java moss tied on the drift wood, they ate most of the leaves.

Will post a pic later. :)

As promised, these are 2 pics of the tank after added in the moss wall, the tank looks smaller. :)

Richie, you can use fishing string to tie the moss.

My tank is a bit messy now as the background is ugly now. ;)

Hope the moss can grow out nicely soon, worry about the flying foxes will eat off all the shoots.

Yeah I forgot to mention that I have made 2 DIY fans for my tank.

This morning when I sat down in front of my tanks, I found one of the female red cherry shrimp is carrying eggs!!!
:)

So happy and finally...

Must say you have switched and changed your designs and your livestock more than any other thread I have read - but your tank does always look first rate!
Your current setup certainly isnt my favourite on your thread (too symetrical for me) but I really think the moss wall will look amazing at the back and then it may all come together again. Cant wait to see it finished!

Really nice tanks - very impressed.

And I just love the simplicity of your nano.
I may have to get a nano now!!

It certainly is another nice transformation, but that uneven substrate is seriously distracting IMO.

Dave.

I've pointed that out too, Dave. I love the path, just not the hilly substrate.

Can't wait to see the moss wall develop. Of course, we may all be in retirement homes when that finally happens.

Thank you guys for the comments... :)

Seems like the "hills" like substrate is really not that acceptable to most of you guys out there yeah, any idea to overcome this? Constructive suggestions are always welcome. :)

symetrical, mmm... what about changing the plants at one side so that it won't look that symetrical? Does that help?

Anyway, I will think of a way to make it looks nicer too. :)

Thank you guys again...

Hey Luc ive never asked this ...

What nutrient substrate do you use ?

I assume you have some ?

Richie

Richie, I am using the very ordinary substrate without any fertilizer in it... I am using root fertilizer and fish waste for plants to grow... I drop a drop of liquid fertilizer per day too. That's all I do...
