Luc's First Planted Tank

I have added in another rummy nose today... I found a fry in the tank last night, but not sure who's baby is that. I am suspecting it is cherry barb's baby, but never see it since then...

The red cherry shrimps in this tank are breeding crazily, everywhere are their babies... I cleaned the filter today and found two baby shrimps in there too... ;P

I've bred cherry barbs, what does your fry look like?

I only saw it once and it swam very close to the drift wood, it is about the size of molly's fry but thinner. dark chocolate in colour, I can only see its top part then it swam into the bush... After that I have never seen it again...

I have removed the green tiger lotus in the middle of the tank and trim some mosses... these are the latest pics to share with you guys...

I quite like how it looks now, very simple and the green is very soothing...

I saw the fry again last night, I am quite confirm that it is a baby cherry barb, it just looks so similar to the adult. Not sure how many left in the tank... A new batch of cherry shrimp babies borned last night too... So happening...

I agree, your tank is very soothing to look at. I feel that way when I look at my 20g. Congrats on the cherry barb, you have thing for cherries? Cherryn barbs, cherry shrimp. My cherry barbs bred a while back in my little 8g when it was briefly a high-tech setup. I had 34 surviving fry and ended up moving everybody to the 36g. I still have them all, even the parents. They are a pretty long-lived fish.

Continue the good work. :good:

I don't think I have many cherry barb fry left in the tank, I hardly see one. But it is a real good experience to see one in my tank, which means it is a good place for them to breed... :)

Cherry shrimps are everywhere, big and small... It is also another nice thing to see, I even can find them in my filter as I didn't wrap the inlet with anything... :)

I think I only have one cherry barb fry left in the tank and it is growing rapidly.

The tank is stable and not much algae... Water also very clear and plants are growing well. Now have to put more attention to my 4-feet tank... :)

It has been long time never update the thread, I have just taken two pics of the tank and wanted to share it now. :)

The tank is alright, very least algae and water is clear. Shrimps are everywhere and the only cherry barb fry is growing rapidly and healthily.
