Lilacamy's Corydoras Log

The 14g is now setup with nice super smooth playsand and plenty of live plants, looking to get bronze cories in there soon, hoping to have source mine from a friend who has 80 of them and for a breeding group but may end up getting locally. The play sand is so smooth that may exchange it with the aquatic sand in the cube tank.

p.s. found a random egg today but it was stuck behind the filter so dont believe this will be a hatching one judging by the colour, but you never know

I know  Just a little update. I have the nice breeding group of 6 bronze cories being hand delivered a week sunday as long as plans go to plans. i also came across a group of black aeneus(venezulans) and these will be delivered in two weeks. Truly excited.

Recently lost some panda cories..have a feeling whatever was occuring with the pygmies may be affecting the pandas..plans are to treat for internal parasites as a starting point as no symptoms at all. Water stats perfect, water changes matched and their appetites have been very good though some seem to have grown quicker than others (internal parasites or simply growth rates unsure, but will treat for now). If anyone has used sterazin before, did you use a half dose at all? It mentions on the bottle to use lesser doses for sensitive species and wonder if this counts?

My wee frylet seems to be doing well :good:

i am looking for black aeneus, but i havent seen them at all, good luck with the breeding, btw how big do bronze cories need to be before breeding? i was thinking of trying to breed them with a special tank.

Im unsure myself hon on that one as first time keeper on bronze cories when I get them. But they seem to be more readily bred than others unsure what the sexual maturity age would be..I would suspect most LFS sell reasonably mature ones :good:

Any sneak peek pics Frank? It is a shame Im not in the U.S.! Just a small update my baby has reached 10 weeks so soon hope to release him against tetras, gourami, glass catfish and a plec!

My 6 bronze cories have turned up today and gone in the 14g breeder, they are full grown and the females are absolutely huge, there is such a difference between the males and females. One of the females I have been informed is eggy and ready and she certainly looks it, so here are fingers crossed for them. Here is a quick peek at one

So now roll on Wednesday for the last of the coris, the schultzei blacks  I have been naughty treating myself to fish this month but then after this I am happily stocked at a good not over exerted capacity and hope to get plenty of breeding and rearing done. Very pleased with the bronze above, they look such lovely quality and size and colouration in comparison to the ones around here.

Awesome hun, you'll have plenty of fry on your hands before long :good:

Little juvi is coming on really well :good:
