Lilacamy's Corydoras Log

Good luck, hope they give you a good price :good:

Well mine were marked up habrosus but ended up being pygmys  you never know...

LOL Well been quoted £2.50 each, he wanted me to collect tonight but cant because at work, will collect them Saturday. He was a bit scared by my excitement but apparently there is now a tank with my name on it! So 12 to be identified mini cories coming my way plus one true pygmy found at the road, which hope to get tonight :good: (whispers now, thats probably it for cories for now  )

Wayhay fab news, good price too :good: well done :)

Oooo i would be itching to collect them

Are you sure thats it for cories ;)

LOL thanks guys. I am itching to go get them, my partner may have time tomorrow but still likely Satuday. As to last cories...if someone has some going I probably wilL!

Well they are acclimatising as we speak. Ended up bringing all they had (11) but only paid for 10 as he miscounted it seems  there are 6 habrosus the other 5 have ended up being true pygmies not hastatus which is an added bonus to be honest!

the pygmies have much more petite faces compared to the habrosus more elongated though both very pretty.

The two fry are doing very well, hope to get some good closeups when it is water change time to see what you guys think.

The 4 original pygmies being treated are still going, and no further losses so far (touchwood).

When everyone has settled in, will attempt some spawnings if they are comfortable.

Well update, everyone has settled in extremely well. The pygmies and habrosus are healthy, the habrosus in particular are fascinating to watch being amongst the most active by far of the ones I have had so far. The "sick" tank of pygmies seem to (touchwood) have been perfectly fine over the weekend with no further losses or odd behaviour. I have transferred them back to their first tank where they continuously spawned (a small 4gish triangle). They have all immediately perked up and swimming far more again, so hopefully they will continue to recover and give me further chances to have some babies (hopefully for less mistakes).

I'm glad they're all doing well :good:

Ooo will keep all crossed that your original pygmys spawning again, would be interesting to see if they do :)

Well they have become far more active since being in hte small tank so take that as a good sign that at least they are happier. Supplied them specially with a good lump of java moss (thanks Liam50!). All touch wood is going well, no further losses anywhere and all seem pretty happy. The habrosus none stop like exploring the glass, dividers, plants, everything!

And finally, here are some pics of the two lone fry that really hope make it to adulthood, one is much much larger as you can see, they are very developed now. Still have them in the koi fish sized net that is cleaned regualarly so they have good water flow and benefit of the 160 litres of water around them, really active little things

Well spent two hours having a good clean and some plants to be added (the last fishie treat for a while now) so here are the tanks!
The Caudimaculatus and Gold Stripes live in my community with glass catfish, pearl gouramis, killifish, neon tetras and a pleccy called Becky:

The Caudimaculatus have spawned at least twice that I know of, the Gold Perus are still young though believe starting to enter maturity. There are plans to get both breeding in the near future once my betta row becomes vacant (whenever that is), here is the potential breeding tank:

I have a cube tank and for now have split this into three compartments with 3 species of cories, a couple of cherry shrimp and my 3 lamp fry that seem to survive nuclear wars:
So on the left is young pygmies, shrimp and lamp eyes (one can escape though) and on the right are habrosus

On this side and whole length of the tank are my pandas who are extremely small at the moment

I also have the small 3-4g triangle tank set up for the older pygmies that bred copiously before I moved them out, their activities have been increasing and just done a water change, so here are fingers crossed to some breeding.

EDIT Nice little surprise further two eggs found in the caudi/gold strip tank.
