Josh's Marine Adventure!

god Im sick of maiden head and there prices! £30 for blood shrimp! i would only buy the cheaper fish such as gobies from there. they want £40 for a pair of clowns, whereas bardills only want £25 for the pair. my two marine LFs's have a crap range of corals, i may try ebay BIN (buy it now)

Agree, good shop, fantastic range of livestock and dry goods @ mine but boy do you pay for it!! I paid £16 each for my occ clowns truck and 18 for the cleaner! they had a XL royal gramma for 25 which I didnt think was bad but a purple face firefish was either 45 or 50

Agree with ebay for corals :good: just wish I had a good local marine stockist :( very good FW private owned place but sadly they dont do marine!!

Thanks for the tips on the zoas btw Tina :)

Never guess what I forgot tonight... lol

Oooh just had a second chance offer on another zoa frag from same guy @ £12.01, cant really say no to that i guess!

You are going to get a lot of annoying light spilling everywhere from that fuge on the side, I would be inclined to 'edge' the whole tank forward to make enough room behind to mount it there, behind the blacked out rear of the tank.Doing it now would be a lot easier than when you have loads of corals and stuff in there( as in takng out some rock and water to move it).

Zoas tend to be smaller in higher flow areas and bigger in lower flow.

Bangaiis are lovely fish and far from boring, you really need a pair of them to enjoy their behavior.

Hm I think you may be right Johnny! maybe next waterchange I'll try and move it  I prefer the smaller looking zoas tbh, got a nice place in mind for it to go :) :good:

Aw that's cool mate, they're properly stunning fish! When are you picking it up? I found another fish shop in cardiff that does marine, seem pretty good to me, I'm gunna pop out there Thursday afternoon I think, may come home with summat lol ;) :p

not this weekend probably the next. (I bought a new bike so owe some money on it still, half goes towards marine though :D )

got to agree with ebay, I won a stunning star polyp frag yesterday, got my eyes on some electric purple and pink zoas and I may buy some xenia from alex brown when i have the monies.

Hi Josh, I will be buying one of them hang on refuge's soon, when you get it running can you post another pic from the top of the tank, showing it flowing back into the water please. I have a brace running around the top of my tank and am not sure if it would fit mine yet.

Good work so far mate :good:

Hi great pics! interesting on the hanging fuge, have you got a link? what is the distance between the end of the bracket and the fuge? (the bit that hngs over the tank, as i dont fancy hacking into my surround (i could easily stop the dripping noise so it wouldnt be a problem, have you got a link to where you bought it from?))

cant wait for my birthday  I need a better skimmer and an auto top off system

Thanks very much Josh, that will do nicely, i think i might be ok with that :good:

I love the Xenia, i might have to invest in one of those myself, stunning coral.

Hey mate :) Thanks :good: I got the fuge off ebay, ebay company called MJ Aquatics This is the one I bought I will measure it later for you, I'm very sure it would fit over the surround (it did with mine) I just didnt like it up that high so decided to cut it down  Getting a lot more evapouration every day now I've noticed! It seems that way anyway! Need to order me some chaeto and LR rubble now.
