I Almost Grew Two Feet

Moved some things over today, including momma and daddy clownfish.

Moved them, their anthelia home and babies, featherduster, a zoa rock and some random hermits decided to tag along. Was very nervous moving momma and daddy, but it's been a couple hours now and they seem to be starting to settle in.

Should be moving over some more corals and inverts this weekend.

looks really good

and that wrasse

Well, the 29G is officially gone. Transferred the rest of everything yesterday and today drained it down and cleaned it up for storage.

I put my sixline in yesterday and he was OK with the leopard, the leopard was even following him around the tank and it was very cute. Today the sixline had him up in a corner and was going after him
I was hoping it was going to work out, but it seems he's only going to continue being a problem. Spent hours trying to catch him earlier but he already knows the works of the tank. Leopard wrasse went to bed early in the sand because of the stress. I've decided the sixline is coming out, not sure what i'm going to do with him after (I'd hate to give him away...), but he needs to go. I might stick him in the 20g with the banggai cardinals and a couple clown babys and move some of the other clowns around.

Regardless, I haven't been able to catch him yet. Tried baiting for the past 4 hours, no luck. I'm going to try and ambush him tonight. See where he decides to sleep and get him that way. IF that doesn't work, not sure what else to do.

Anyways, other than that everything seems to be working as planned. No losses in the move (yay) and all corals and creatures look fantastic. My aquascape is no where near finalized, I just haven't had the energy to move it around and glue it etc. how I want it. Coral placement is also not finalized, I just temporarily put them where they'd be happy for now.

Thoughts, comments and suggestion on the aquascape PLEASE. No clue what to do with it anymore!!!
I'm also changing out one of the T5 bulbs from blue to daylight, it feels too dark in the tank at the moment.

i like the aqauscape except on the left the two larger bits of base rock i think it would be better if it was some nice fiji open plan lr

I just read through this entire journal. Such amazing work and patience! I hope to have something this nice one day. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see the tank grow even more.

OK, so sixline got wayyyy too aggressive with the leopard and so spending the day trying to catch him... AGAIN I finally caught him :D!!!! I put in a fish carrier and it sat in there for almost 6 hours... finally (while I Was talking to my dad) I saw him swim into it and I ran across the room and pulled it up out of the water and got him :D!!

I decided for now, to put him in my 20G long with the clown babies and 2 banggai cardinals. He's been in there 2 or 3 days now and is still being timid which is great. If he decides to misbehave, I do have a friend of a friend who is willing to take him and put him in a 29G all by himself, but I really want to keep him. I've had him for about 3.5 years now...

Anyways, I reaquascaped a little today, I like how it's looking a lot better. Once the water clears and corals open back up, I'll take some new pictures.

Water Parameters yesterday:
pH: 8.3 (YAY, was at 7.6 for a long time :()
dKH: 10
NH3: 0
NO2: 0
NO3: 20ppm
Density: 1.024
Calcium: 440ppm
Phosphate: 0

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately those three pieces are epoxied together and therefore cannot be moved haha. I think the new aquascape incorporates that side a lot better now.

Thanks! Everytime I read back to the first page it always amazes me how much my plans have changed. From my planned equipment to my planned stock and even aquascaping ideas!

Well, some of the corals are still unhappy, but they're adjusting.
Here's an updated pic, I'm much more happy with the aquascape.

I ordered new bulbs yesterday and I'm going to mess around with different combinations to see what look I like best. I don't like how the tank doesn't look as... bright I guess, as the 29G did.

Took some shots with only the blue (not actinic, but actual blue) bulbs on. Glowy corals :) yay

your Corals Look Amazing.... I haven't even set up my FOWLR yet and i want to go Reef for the corals.. haha... I'm still going to start FOWLR till i get the hang of salt though, but definitely designing and stocking with adding corals down the line in mind... I also just read through the Vit C dosing thread, great information and Great work on your tank. :D

Thanks Guys :D

Picked up a smallish torch today... Some people broke down their tank and brought their corals to my work. While most of the corals were humongous, they were obviously not taken care for, for the past few months... Saw the biggest green bird's nest ever from that tank.... Bigger than a basketball! Must have been a foot in diameter!

Anyways, the two heads of this torch was part of a larger 5-6 head colony, but the other heads were all dead... This one needs a lot of lovin'. The tissue that is suppose to be on the base is completely receded back. It's really very beautiful, so I hope it does well.

Completely forgot to show my sump monster!

The bulbs came today. I decided to go with:
1x GE 6500k
3x ATI Blue Plus

I also picked up another koralia, this time the evolution. Really great thing, lots of power in it. I'm using it to get flow through my non-photosynthetic coral section on the left, under the arches.

The animals I posted in the post prior are coming tomorrow :)
Pics then!

Nemo
