Huge 900g Tank Project

For the comments by fry_lover i vote we feed him to the afore mentioned "razer toothed plec" ;)

i still say it's premature to rule out a planted community and i know CFC is secretely keeping this as an option, scanning the local LFS for bulk-buy Neons as we speak

i think CFC is coming around your house now to give you a big happy slap

cost you a fortune to fill it full of neons

cheers dane

If all goes well, the first creature in that tank may well be me. :D Swiftly followed by CFC if he fancies.

And I reckon we will be seeing Lucifer out looking at the woolen department of Marks and Sparks before CFC starts eyeing up the plants and neons for a tank that size.

At the risk of being fed to the razor tooted pleco :shifty: :shifty: why do you have a fish house?? I know the practical answer is cos the tanks are too big for the house but what I mean is whats the point?? I realise I'm a noob and have STACKS to learn but I thought the whole point was to be able to sit and watch them?? Or do you go off down the fish house to just sit and watch - a bit like my grandad used to go down the allotment to escape my gran

I dont really keep the kind of fish you just sit and watch, for the most part they dont do anything apart from sit around waiting to be fed and are mostly drab dark colours rather than the pretty bright coloured little fish that most people think of when tropical fish are mentioned. Instead i collect unusual and sometimes rare fish that are more often than not predatory or dangerous in some form so have to be housed on their own or with caution in communities of similar fish, most also shun daylight so i have a lot of large empty looking tanks with no lights that would look awful in the house.

I have one tank in the house which is a 150 gallon brackish tank with pretty bright coloured scats and monos swimming about which pleases the mrs and guests can ooh and ahh about.

(also the fish house is a great place to disappear to when my mother in law is staying)

they would ooh and ahh at it if you cleaned it once in a while :p

Im guessing shes not a TFF member so i think its safe to :shout: at that one. If the cost of the tank is getting bit much you could always host synchonised swimming events in it to help pay for it. I think you should definately steer clear of getting a shoal of those vicious man eating neon tetras though.

*tick* *tick*

I bet you're keeping an eager eye on the calendar

I find it hard to comprehend such a massive tank! Fantastic work so far :)
