WOW! That looks brilliant gf

I like the second pic better. I think you should take a pic of all the equipment out, but from a further distance, because you can see it's like a miniature world.

Good job! :good:

OK... I salute you... Your nano tank is one of the best i've ever seen... and the photos are amazing quality, too.

George,

This tank is excellent ! A superb example of how a small tank can give the impression of being a much larger tank if the aquascaping is done right.
If I can get my nano looking even half as good as this in the new year, then I'll be very pleased !

Anybody looking at setting up a nano should read this whole thread again to see the full development of the tank from the first 'empty tank' shots, through the various dry hardscaping shots of the potential rock layouts, the planting of the hairgrass and initial HC foreground. Through the algae issues and on to the end results posted over the past week or so. Lots of hardwork involved, but well worth it for the rewarding end result.

The impression of size is really impressive. Looking at the latest shots it's easy to forget you are looking at a small tank ( well on the pics without your hand in there  ). Also really impressed with your experiments with different background/lighting combinations.

The attention to detail in taking the pics is also evident, all the equipment removed and the surface ripples, just makes this tank stand out from the rest ...... Everything in the tank seems to be 'in scale' and ' in balance'and for me this is absolutely the best looking nano I've seen for quite some time, well worth entering in the 2007 AGA/ADA competitions.

Amazing for a first attempt at a nano !
It leaves just one question ......... Whats next from George ?

It looks amazing, i especially love all that hairgrass.....i just hope i can have as much success with it . Just want to say thank you so much for this whole thread, George. It's taught me loads and is what has gotten me into proper planted tanks and aquascaping. This tank has completely inspired me to do my own! :)
I cant wait for the finial pics.

Thanks. I am pleased to see that you are becoming more involved with "proper planted tanks and aquascaping".

Here's another photo taken just before a major pruning session. This tank is near its peak now. A few more photos over the next couple of days and it'll be ready for a strip down.

Amazing tank George, truly and inspiration  , now you'v got me doing my own nano. Just out of curiosity what do you do with the fish before you strip it down?

Yes what IS next for George? :dunno:

Stunning George,

For me that is the best pic so far and the best nano I've seen in ages, worthy of entry into ANY competition.

You've created a nano that sets the standard for others to aim for and has already given inspiration to lots of people ...... not bad for a 'first nano' !

It is a real pity you are going to have to break this one down ...... Still I suppose that means you've got a fresh canvas for your second attempt !

That tank looks really good, AND TIDY!!!! My planted tank is currently a mass of some feathery plant thats about to take over the world, and hair algae  ! That tank is looking really good!

A bit off topic for this thread but i also really liked the picture of the tank you showed in your article in the latest PFK magasine. Very stylish with the desk lamp, I could see that on my coffee table, very nice!

Thanks everyone.

MHunt - That was Moody's nano tank. A wonderful example of aquascaping on a small scale. I do not have the skill to create such complex layouts, a simpler style suits me better.
