Dawn On The Reef

Glad to see your tank is coming along...but.... YOu need more pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gawd you are a lot of impatient buggers.
I'm in a bit of a dispute with an ebayer selling Zoanthids. I've parted with around £60 and no corals as yet. Not slagging the guy off just yet but I'm not best pleased with the service. So I've been busy chasing this up but I promise to get some new pics up asap.!

Hold on they're comming.

OK...OK
I didn't really want to post anymore pics until Wednesday/Thursday because some people let me down as regards to sending me corals, but alas it is a progressional thing I suppose. So I guess I should show each stage as and when it happens, I should take delivery on Tuesday frags of Pom-Pom Xenia, Metalic GSP and 6 Zoanthid sp. colour morphs. So I'll have a hectic time Tuesday evening.
Meanwhile here's a few snaps I took this evening.

And the last one with a crappy camera, taken with the blue lighting only. Wish I had a better camera

One point to note is that the rockwall has started to get some coraline algae growing on it, like the liverock its turning a deep purple.
That will have to do for now with the pics until Thursday.

As I said 6x Zoanthid sp. colour morphs, Pom-Pom Xenia and GSP. After that I'll be looking for a Sun Coral, Organ Pipe Coral, Montipora Digitata (pink, green or purple) Possibly a Plating Montipora frag as well. Also toying with a Gorgorian of some sort.
Thanks for your comments they are always appreciated.

Looks great :)
But a word from the wise.. I wouldn't be putting too many more many corals in there as there wont be any room for them to fill out and youll soon end up with corals stiniging each other and fighting for room. If that where mine I would leave it as is and allow to fill out naturally rather than craming too much in and having issues in the future. Just I thought.. *goes off to mind my own business* lol

Cheers Guys for the kind comments.

LM you know your comments are always greatly accepted, valued and acted upon.
I had planned for the inclusion of those corals, they are only very small frags and will/should fit the bill nicely. The only other real corals I would like to accomodate would be a Sun Coral for a bit of colour, and an Organpipe Coral. Not really essential at the moment but I may want to include them in the future. I will be using the liverock for all the placements of the Zoo's etc, I could utilise the rockwall but have decided against it for now, I may well consider this for future insertions. I am getting into Zoanthids and trying to aquire some nice colour morphs, with future fragging and swapping with fellow salties in mind. I must admit I do have a touch like an elephant when trying to place smaller corals within the tank. The Ricordia were a real PITA to glue down and place.
Thanks everyone for looking, your comments and criticisms are always greatly appreciated.

Ah, now there's the comments of a young salt water aquarist :) Regardless of your decision to use the rockwall, your zoanthids, xenia, and/or ricordea will eventually have other ideas ;) ;) They'll grow up on there eventually.

Tank looks phenomenal though BigC, way to go :good:

Whilst most of my corals arrived from Ebayers, one lot of Zoanthids failed to appear yet again, this is week 3 of chasing one guy up, he seems sincere and said he has sent them but going on the aspect that I have never failed to recieve corals (RM Next Day Delivery) in the past from various sources, and this guy or RM has failed to deliver the goods on two occasions now I dont know weither to bellieve him or not. I'm down about sixty quid (Advice on reclaiming funds from Ebay/Paypal for undelivered goods would be appreciated)
I also got som Pom-Pom Xenia which is looking in a very sorry state. The GSP have not opened out as yet (fingers crossed) Through all this I did get 3 cracking Zoanthid colour morphs, Eagle Eyes, Bam-Bam Orange and Red Brigades...stunning. See pics below.
I have placed them around the tank where I want them as rock fillers, but the plan was to have the othe three to complete the job.
Anyone who has had either Xenia or GSP delivered via mail could you please comment on their survival rates as maybe the Xenia may pick up and how long does it usually take for the GSP to make an appearance.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I've never had Xenia delivered but have tried to deliver it myself twice, both times unsuccessfully. Xenia unfortunately tends to have a very high metabolism which is a pain while shipping as they can often suffocate themselves in the bag. They're not the best shippers, but once established in the tank won't die short of thermonuclear attack... Wierd. GSP can be picky at first but are very survivable.

You need to open a dispute. Open the dispute console and it walks you through the process. Emails will pass between you/ebay/seller. If you win your dispute you should receive a refund.

If he has proof of postage you are pretty fooked though.

Maybe if this is the case you should try and arrange replacement frags?
