Dawn On The Reef

WOW!, I just looked through the first few pages of this thread and 20 minutes later I find myself on the final page!

What an amazing journey from the empty tank and the ceramic media wall to now!, Its like following every detail and being there with you!

very well done with your tank, its looks superb with the coral and the clowns and all the plants and other species you have there :)

Great thread all round and I cant wait to see how the tank progresses! :)

Simply Amazing

Off today to get me a small Birdsnest colony (Seriatopora hystrix). I have some frags already which I obtained as a trial to see if the tank could sustain such a species. Needless to say those are thriving. I also need some more Epoxy (aqua putty) so I'll call into the LFS and see wot the've go in. No money just lookin
Pics later on this evening.

they are one of my fave sps, really compact growth. and really random lines. Look great when its gets to a large colony size

'no money, just looking' seem to remember you saying that before BigC and then you coming back with something pretty special :p

How I would love a birdsnest colony - of course it would be a pink one  even though my tank is now so full of pink I am sworn to nothing even vaguely pink  one day, when I upgrade :good:

looking forward to seeing the photos :snap:

I'm also going to fit the Tunze Photocell today which will turn the pump down to minimum when the lighting goes off.
After this bucket of D&D salt is finished I will be returning to my original prefered brand which was Red Sea Coral Pro.

Hi bigC
Any particular reason why you’re returning back to the coral pro salt. I ask because i like wise have just bought the D&D salt after my LFS told me it was a better salt {but there bounty so say that aren’t they as its £53 a tub and the coral pro is only £45  } if there is something wrong sort of speak with the D&D salt i would rather take it back before i open it, and swap it for the coral pro. Thanks again m8t

Hey Bigc !! lookin good as always!
do u reckon that 10" Di would couple up to my D-D Ro Unit?
i also have a small light in my fuge for my Chaeto but it isnt good enough..well the chaeto

2 secs Kip in middle of a waterchange and dont want a flood

Yep Kip it will be fine its got all the connections needed and the pipeworks the same no matter which you choose

To John,
I dont think its the salt specifically and cant pin things down until I eliminate all options but I have a small show of Cyno and there are one or two bases I need to cover and the salt is one of them

a batch D&D salt was linked to phosphates, think it is now solved though.
Its a pain to get rid of though, even when phosphates test at near on zero
