Do you realize how many people are infected that aren’t even reporting? The statistics they are showing are bogus!

Well I'd like to get myself tested as I have a cough and a runny nose but there aren't any DIY kits yet.

Yeah and they dont want you to go in unless absolutely necessary. My dad and I should really be tested as well.... cough, trouble breathing, fever etc. Pretty much all they can do for you in the hospital is put you on oxygen and fluids. We have an oxygen thingie if we need it. Hoping and praying you dont have it!

My family is currently self quarantined. My dad I have become very sick. Coughing for weeks now, pneumonia type symptoms, and trouble breathing.... thankfully we have been avoiding social situations and haven't likely infected anyone if it is this. People are not taking it seriously. Please self quarantine if you have symptoms.

Does this poster mean if you have a cough and cold you should still report it?

I don't think it's a thing to report here in the UK, the hospital site says not to call, most likely they will be over flooded with calls if you did.

I wonder if I should self isolate? I'm getting better though.

If you have a cough you should self isolate for 7 days. It's your civic responsibility to do so.
IF you have covid19, "getting better" means you have a mild illness like 80% of cases, but you are just as infectious as someone who has a severe illness.
Please, stay at home.

If it works, it's actually very clever.
They don't 'plan' to 'get' most people infected, they accept that it's going to happen anyway. Inevitable. Their plan is to slow the spread so that people don't all have it at the same time (flattening the curve). Infections will be in smaller numbers over months instead of a large number in weeks. That way hospitals etc can cope.
Once 60% of the population have antibodies (from the illness or any future vaccine) the infection rates will be naturally slow (herd immunity).
Countries in strict lock down may just delay people getting it. When they return to normal there may be another steep curve of cases that the systems can't handle.
There are two key elements for its success. Timing (social distancing coincides with the curve taking off) and responsibility (people with cough or fever self isolating for 7 days).

Well the guidlines they gave at work as a result of contacting some health and safety office was if there was a suspect case ie not confirmed by Drs to be the virus, you should continue usiness as usual.
