Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

You would think that but there hasn't been any toilet paper, tissues or paper towels for over a month now. So people are still panic buying and stock piling more than a month after they started. And now they have started cleaning out canned and frozen goods too.

The main food left in my local supermarket is meat, chocolate, chips & CCs, and tomatoe sauce.

I can tell you now, steak or canned fish, broken up into little pieces and put on CCs with a drop of tomatoe sauce is quite nice. However, chocolate CCS and chocolate potatoe chips are not nice.

Do you live in the middle of nowhere??

Oh yes! The old super size me at McDonalds! I’m glad they got rid of that program. To many people these days don’t know how to stay healthy.

Yes @snailaquarium, they should sell MRE’s in the UK. Reach out to your local military surplus store. Or look on eBay/Online to find them.

I have asked the staff when their next shipment is coming in. They say it is coming in tonight and will be available in the morning. Unfortunately I can't get there in the morning so I miss out.

I have brought this up with the store manager and asked them to make stock available in the late afternoon. She did that last week with a pallet load of toilet paper and I managed to get some. But they are unwilling to do it with anything else.

So I have just sent another email to the CEO of Woolies and asked them to do something about this. The CEO has been dribbling on about stock being made in Australia and all stores should have plenty available. Well that isn't correct. Yes it's made in Australia but the stores have nothing after 10am.

It's so frustrating. All I want to do is my basic weekly shopping and I can't even do that because idiots are going nuts and buying everything as soon as the store opens.
Do they deliver?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! The library is closed until the 29th luckily I have a stock of books so I will have to burn through Crime and Punishment, Gone with the Wind, Henry V, The Art of the Deal, and all of Alistair MacLean books
I feel ya all of mine are closed too

I heard that in hongkong because it's so humid their stockpiled toilet paper is going moldy and causing rat problems

I just froze milk for the first time. My son and daughter both found some and brought me some. We don’t drink it that fast. It says it may change consistency a little but is fine to freeze. We shall see.

did you leave a few centimetres clear at the top of the bottle to allow for expansion?

Yeah it's fine to freeze. My family goes through at least 2 gallons a week. And 2 of us use almond milk instead!

I bought more milk than I can use in a weeks' time. So I may try freezing some of it. Better than throwing some out. I will take some out of the container to prevent it rupturing.

Yes, I did. :) @Fishmanic, it said to write on the carton the day you froze it and how many days you have to use it after thawing. For instance, I froze mine one 3/14/20. It expires 3/23/20. So I will have 9 days to use it in.

I find milk often is fine to drink for several days after the expiration date. The lower your fridge temperature, the longer it will last. I throw it out as soon as it gives off just a bit of sour milk smell.

Yeah dairy products are usually good for 1 week after the date.
