Hi everyone!
The red betta I have in the one gallon tank seems to have gotten tail rot. I noticed this the day before yesterday, so I added some melafix to see if it would heal. I also added the same amount yesterday. Now, his tail looks the same if not worse. Should I put salt in? Or should I go out and buy some medication. There doesn't seem to be any white in the edges and since he's red, you couldn't really tell if it's bacterial or not, but that's what I'm guessing. And I don't think he tore it on something in the tank because there are just big gaps in, not little frayed parts. I tested the water and these are the parameters:
Ph: 7.2
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 10 ppm
I don't have any other test kits. Maybe it's the nitrate in the water?
Thank you,
~Aqua~
