Banks Of The Rio De La Palma

You don't have to put it up but you should take a photo so when it's looking better you can compare

thats the whole point of a journal, the warts and all. Good to see you ain't given up though mate.

Have just bought a CO2 regulator, £30 from ebay, brand new too :) make is DICI which i'm guessing is a cheap knock off but it will do the trick, not using a solenoid as for saving £20 and switching an alarm on my phone every day seems easier as I have to dose the same time any way. Now to see if I can get it to work on both tanks and my old Nitrous Oxide bottle from my old car ;).

Just been and measured the thread on the Nitrous Express bottle and it's 22mm, WHOOP!!!!! Gonna fill it Tuesday, reg should be here Wednesday along with a few more plants so a little fiddle with the tanks and things should be getting back on track.

Well that was a let down, I found somewhere just round the corner to fill my nitrous bottle with CO2 only to find they cant do it lol, so for the £20 to refill it they sold me a 2KG FE :) so providing my reg turns up tomorrow we will have pressurised CO2. :)

Right, after sorting the CO2 today, buying up quite a few plants on the forum and ebay, getting my head back in to this and receiving my plant delivery (lots to make up for all the ones that melted, impatient I know), I got sorting today, the DICI regulator I have to admit is quite impressive and with the 2KG bottle of CO2 the pressurised set up cost all of £50 :). New additions are Microsorum Pteropus Trident and Needle (cheers Andy) & lots of Crypts. Also bought Rotala Wallichi, Blyxa Japonica, Rotala Rotundifolia & Limnophila Aromatica for the Eden scape. I'll put up some pic's tomorrow as my iphone is flat now but its looking good, to be honest, better than in the last pic's as it filled in a lot before the massive melt. Now to get the drop checker to change colour, still as orange as when I put the liquid in, wonder if I have to add water or something???

Excellent, look forward to the pics

it shouldn't be orange Steve...it should be blue.

Well, thank you for all the help guys, drop checker is green, dark green as I put in too much Bromo Blue but never mind, still got hair algae here and there and still fighting GSA but here's some pic's. Added 10 pots of Crypts, changed round the hardscape as it wasn't working for me and added Microsorum Trident and Needle to fill up the wood a bit more. HC is working its way across the tank nicely too after the move round its got a large area to cover now and I know it looks a little empty but my Embers spend all day getting frisky in the plants now and only come out too feed lol.

Dodgy tank shot showing the CO2 working its way round, also this is the only shot where you can see the depth of the 2 pieces of wood and all the Fissidens and Weeping moss on them both.

HC loving the new CO2, just needs to spread across the whole tank now lol.
