Cuban Delight

Thanks everyone for the replies, as ian said in his journal it does mean a lot, esp to my back lol it aches after all that lol, yeah I wish I had this pic for TOTY maybe have a chance of winning then :)

P.S. Will be more Mosquito Rasbora, need to fish out the Lampeyes as they are picking off baby shrimp when they're randy and breeding.

Dunno about that minnnt lol thanks tho mate. :)

Looks amazing Steve, as others have said it was definitely worth the back ache, it's tanks like this that really made me want to attempt a planted tank.

Cheers

Jon

This is stunning  I'd love for my tanks to look just half as good as that but as yet I'm still working on being patient enough to give my scapes a chance to grow in before I decide it needs moving around  How on earth do you keep it all so pristine? My snails poop too much for me to ever keep up with, and it makes me compulsed to move all the plants around to get rid of it.

@ JonE, thanks mate, I'm just playing the patience game now waiting for everything to grow into it's new surroundings lol then it's more stock :).

@ Blinky, I only have a few tiny hitch hiker snails that clean more than make mess and a hell of a lot of shrimp to manicure everything, believe me it's not as neat as it looks, I have a lot of melting plants since the move around. I also constantly have to trim the HC and mosses so more back ache lol, thanks for the kind comment. :)

P.S. Don't forget to vote in tank of the year guys :).

That gives me hope  I'm going to give something like this a go now I've finally come into some money. The position of tutor is still available, you know! :hey:

Are you still selling the shrimp? I'd love a few of those little guys :)

I'm not selling anymore mate but I'll help you out as much as possible with your tank. :)

Ah, gutted! Are you likely to be overrun again any time soon? I love that I can see where they grew up, you never know at pet shops. And thank you in advance for all the help I'm going to be asking for

No worries mate, yeah in a few months I'll have loads again lol, they're like rabbits. I'm breeding Crystal Red Shrimp in my Eden scape too so in a few months should be selling them too.

Slight update on this set up, I'm going LED, I'm gonna be building most of the housing tomorrow put of pine so I can stain it to match the missus furniture lol. I'm gonna use 6 x 3w LEDs and make a nice slimline housing for them, this should up my lighting quite a bit for faster growth and due to the new redmoor being larger than the old stuff I need my lighting spread out. The wood is over shadowing my HC and I don't want it dying back now after all the hard work so hopefully with the LEDs and 45 degree lens's it should go around the wood to the HC. I'll keep you up to date with build pics, I just ordered the LEDs so they'll be a couple weeks yet, Ian if you'd like a write up for parc let mr know mate.

aye Steve, as LED's are becoming more popular, a write up never goes a miss. :good:

Still waiting on the LEDs to turn up :( been to ill and to cold to venture into the shed to start building the housing lol. On the upside I finally got rid of my shrimp munching lampeyes, everyday when I put the algae wafers in they'd wait for the babies to come out and pick them off :(. Had a major trim too a few days back just to get rid of melting leaves and it's encouraged new growth really quick, esp with the needle fern, pics and a vid should be up soon. :)

Oh if your liking my scape come over to tank of the year, still got 4 weeks left. :)
