7 Foot, 1074 Litres, 284 Gallons.

if i made a 12'x6'4 i would only need one piece of glass, well probably cheaper in 2 or 3 pieces so the price wouldn't be as much as you would think, with 3 sides made from breeze blocks (the twin layered ones)! well thats a long way off so don't want to think about it yet!
just trying to come to a price on 3 reticulated rays, hope i get them for the right price, if so i should have them this month! im excited!
also trying to sort out a or a couple of tiger fish!
it will all come together soon, well withing the next 12 months! haha

Come-onnnnnn show e another picture of your tank XD

And only one pieces?

nothing has changed to make there any reason for any more pictures yet!

yeah 1 piece, if i built a tank in a fish house, 3 sides would be concrete and just the front would be glass, so (dependent on the size) would only need one piece of glass to cover the front, if it was 12' then the front panel would probably be split into 3 4 foot pieces, well minus the width of the uprights joining the pieces of glass together. this is a long way off even properly being thought about so obviously when the time comes proper and thorough plans will be drawn up and will all be thoroughly thought out.
should hopefully have the rays in a few weeks, maybe sooner so then i will have a few more reasons to take pictures for you!!

good question, no one else has asked me that! for now until i can find a solution to how i can fit e externals on the tank, i am just getting covers for the internal heaters and lift them as far from the base of the tank as possible keeping there function ability. i may get the 2 externals i know i can fit straight onto the tank and just leave one heater (covered) in the tank for now, this will lessen the chance of one of the rays bumping into them (if there is just one internal as opposed to three).
i do want another filter on the tank in addition to the 2 eheim pro 3 2080's, i do want one of the eheim pro 3 2180 thermo filters, but i am having trouble working out where i'd put it as the other eheims fill the cupboards! i would put a sump in the middle of the stand but i don't know how i can make a sump without the tank being drilled! if i could fit a sump all the heaters could be in there and it would add to the total tank volume of water.
any ideas?

cheers,
Dave

Try'ed showing my mate Fresh water rays isnce he did'nt believe me and i could'nt find any :(

Also

Wooo how you gunna heat/Filter this huge fish house :p Gunna take ALOT of time for water change XD

I'd suspect depending on the sizer you could add smaller fish with big fish since the little'ns have time to get away and the space

though im not 100% sure... :D

well probably the easiest way for heating would be the hydor external heaters or the heater that fit onto the inlets on external filters but are still inside the tank. i think your plan for another eheim pro 3 but thermo is also pretty good as you are getting more filtration and your not drilling the tank. i personally have no knowledge when it comes to sumps, but generally sound like the best idea when it comes to a large tank! sorry i haven't really helped just backed up your own idea already, but if i was you i would go with hydor heaters as i can't remeber which way it is but eheim pro 3's have three pipes so thats plenty of pipes to fit three heaters onto.

it doesn't seem as easy as that liam!!
the hydor externals have to go on the filter outlets, not the inlets. we already had this discussion and came up with a few reasons why! a long discussion lol.
anyway, my 2 eheim pro 3's have 2 inlets and 1 outlet each, giving me only 2 outlet pipes to add the hydors to, i really need 3 300 watt heaters to heat the tank, so need another heater from somewhere! i think adding the eheim pro3 thermo, which has a built in 500 watt heater would do nicely, adding extra filtration and my needed heater. i just don't know where to put it! i suppose if push came to shove it could just sit next to the tanks stand but don't really want it to be seen!
the existing eheim pro 3 outlets are positioned at either end of the tank, to give maximum circulation, if i added another filter id put the outlet, and probably the inlets central, giving the best possible circulation i could ever dream of lol.
just need to get the cash for the extra filter (they aint cheap) and will get the heaters (just the 2 for now until i come to a decision!) within the next couple of weeks.

Dave

ahh yes i do remember that discussion ha. well yer they are not cheap i saw one or ebay go for £180 and one on here go for £170. i haven't seen your stand if it only has two cubby holes then you may have to see it. but you could always diy another door onto your existing stand.

ps i never did get why the heaters had to go on the outlets i would just stick em on inlet anyway. but thats me. oh take a look at the heaters that attach to the inlets of your filters.!!

edit: did just look they are rena smart heaters.

thats from 2007 mate, thanks anyway, im doubtful im gonna find one, thats the only reason i've been looking for an alternative tigerfish. none are as nice as the pulcher but the undecimradiatus are the closest looking ones i think.
