i told him not to touch the rock, it was pointless in trying to clean them

put he insisted and slightly adjusted a rock that, if it fell, could easily kill the torch, cyphastrea, finger leather, and wellso

and guess what

it fell

and it missed everything

by less than half an inch

it might have killed a nassarius snail though :/ poor guy didn't see it coming

Oh man, that was so close. My family knows better than to touch my tanks.

trust me thats not even the good part

when he tried to put it back, he hit the blue spruce candy canes really hard, so basically ive marked them down as soon to be dead hahaha

and he cracked the cyphastrea

and all the while im 'please just let me do it before you kill anything else'

other than that everything is fine, the rock that fell is back where it was...upside down, and the only other troubles im having are:

mandarin wont eat anything but pods (tried mysis and blood worms)

peppermint shrimp are outsmarting me

the sky blue saint thomas mushroom is having trouble staying in one place

Ah geez. But you have a 90g tank, surely that's enough to sustain a mandarin with the pod population. Or, I'd say make a refugium.

I know I've got a fuge and everything and he's still the same weight
But he's really active and pops out to swim multiple times a day
:/
And new zoa came with a surprise, a giant bristleworm :D
Trying to find a way to get rid of it now

Hey a quick update

Heading to fish store today to sort out a issue with my light for the pico
Might convince dad to pick up a cat eye/ button coral/ brain coral

And other than that everything is going well, still trying to catch the peppermints but other than that I've added some stuff to my livestock list in the pico

Here's the total list, * means an addition

2 peppermint shrimp
Pair of harlequins
Pom Pom crab
Red spot glass cardinals
Crinoid squat lobster*
Either a porcelain crab or emerald crab* or both, need some advice

Also considering a acropora crab for the 90, maybe 2 Idk

That's all...

Supposedly Porcelains and emeralds don't get along all the time. Mine's great with my porcelains. If you must have both, make sure you get the larger Caribbean porcelains, and then get a very small emerald crab. You also have to be careful about the pompom with those two.

If you want a pompom, I'd forego the emerald and the Caribbean porcelains and then get the smaller white porcelain anemone crabs.

Thats what I could have done with knowing on wednesday! :( discovered I have a random crab, its an algae eater looking at its claws and juzst looks like a small mithrax albeit another purple one (what are the chances?)...

I turned my nose up at a big procelain crab because i was worried! *sigh*

IME, they are fine if the emerald is small and the porcelain is big, like either a green or a Caribbean. When are you posting pictures of your sailfin blennies? I'm very sad.

Do the anemone porcelains require an anemone?

nothing has died
light got fixed
still trying to convince dad to give me the extra 155$ so that when the time comes that those cardinals are available i can get them, just in case i should be able to have enough money by the end of the week to get them and grudgingly pay for the shipping, though i will be completely out of funds afterwards

i tried to order them at the store but the owner said the same thing ive been reading, they are poor shippers, he orders 20 and only half or less show up alive but dying. so again, either i contact the other store and see what they will do or i order online off DD, though who knows how long that will be and who knows if ill even get them (lots of people are aiming for them now, they dont last 5 minutes after being posted)

3 more things

1. one of the cardinals is significantly fatter than the other, and both are pretty fat after some heavy feeding, the reproductive parts are sticking out as well so i want to assume that this is a female full of eggs and if thats right i may have a dad with his mouth full in a while, trying to feed them more to try and get them to have babys, i want to put those urchins to good use haha

2. tang and gramma and clowns have picked up a habit of flicking on rocks, getting me worried, it all started after the heavy feeding (only been two days in a row, first was brine/mysis, today was just brine) though corals are doing very well.

3. i found one (or the remaining) peppermints hideout (behind the leather), hopefully soon i will have time to catch and acclimate them.

Also, do you think mandarin would appreciate some Cyclopeeze?
List some foods he might like, i highly doubt this guys TB considering I have only seen him eat off rock

And would leopards compromise his food source?

I have seen mandarins eat: bloodworms, mysis, brine shrimp, nutramar ova

Leopards are natural predators of copepods... Personally I see mine hunting around the tank constantly all day, so i'm going to go with yes.

Ok then, I guess I'm off to find ways to fatten this guy up, though I think its too late, note to self, if fish seems skinny, it is skinny, of people claim its tank fed, watch them feed it.
I actually compared pics from when I got him to now, he's gotten fatter, but not by much.

fish and corals are loving the 2 feedings a day regime they are getting

everybody is so fat, except mandarin of course

i think the palm tree coral is growing, there are these fleshy colored things begginning to bud off the sides
either that or they are being attacked by some sort of pack hunting worm

also, i think im going to leave the peppermint shrimp in the 90 and just put fireshrimp along in there as well, do longnose hawks eat peppers?
also going to move conk from the 20 to the 90, hes the last snail left and he does a good job at derping around on the sand

and these two small weird polyps showed up out of now where and i think they might be parts of the chipped cyphastrea i didnt kill, think they might regrow?

and does anyone know how long one asternia will last a harlequin shrimp

or am i going to have to get supplemental starfish

also there this weird plant growing on my rocks
and bubble algae
me thinks i need an emerald crab for the 90
