If peas don't work, try some boiled green vegetables (lettuce, zuchini..)

Will this work for a 10 gallon tank?

NO sharks. NO tigerbarbs (they're fin-nippers) with guppies. NO angelgish. Stick to guppies. mollies, sword tails (1m,2-3f). Algae eaters:choose 1 siamese algae eater, or 2-3 otto's.

    Frozen foods

I believe that your fish is suffering from constipation. Feed them with some boiled peas (do not overfeed!!!). What's the temperature in your tanks? Danios generally prefer temperatures between 65-72 F, so that could be another reason for your losses...

1g tank is a tiny place for a betta, not for a bala shark. DO NOT do such a thing... :grr:

    Frozen foods

Either way, it'll work, don't worry. Even if you wont de-frost it, your fish will find their way to it...

    ICH

Try to isolate the sick fish immediately and raise the temperature at about 30 Celcius. In ich cases I use Sera Costapur. Follow the directions and hopefully everything is going to be OK.

Otto's are about 1-1,5 inches long, thus you're not going to have any problems regarding your volume.

An anubia var. nana, tied on a small piece of wood or rock, would fit nice in your tank ;)

    Bought a betta bowl

Heating is one thing.... and it's pretty much covered... Now about filtration... I would recommend you a small and simple sponge filter for your little fellow... Otherwise, stick to frequent water changes (30%, 2-3 times per week). Be carefull not to overfeed and polute more your bowl...

    The Twilight Zone...

Guppiemonkey. according to what Ninjasmurf wrote, the problem is not that the mother eats all of her fry after birth; the problem is that she is not getting pregnant. Dense plantation is necessary for the fry to survive in the main tank; it's not necessary for the guppies eh...hmmm .. to do...

    guppy ph

Guppies are very hardy fish with an ability to adapt themselves to ph from a range of 5,5 - 8,5 !!!. IMO a ph of 8 is OK for guppies and surely I prefer it from trying to lower ph using chemicals and stuff. Of course you can use peat, but I really think that the current situation is OK.

My guppy had her Babies & I need help!!!!

A tested food for guppies fry is the yolk of a hard boiled egg. Let the yolk get dry and then crush just a bit and feed it to your babies. Of course you can find some guppies baby food in the trade... I would recommend you to perform water changes 2-3 times per week, in order to avoid problems...

    Hello there

Hi there, Just wanted to introduce myself to the Forum. I'm in the aquarium hobby for a couple of years. First, I started with goldfish, afterwards with a community/livebearers (poecilia reticulata, xiphophorous helleri, neon, otto's) tank, and currently I'm thinking of setting up a small...

    what fish should i get???

I would suggest a minimum of 30g for you tank. Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) (2m, 4f), plus 4-5 corydoras (Corydoras paleatus) and a small group of Otto's (Ottocinclus affinis). Since you're a beginner, I assume that you do not want to mess up with CO2 and stuff, thus, I strongly recommend to...

    MY FISH HAD BABIES!

The real issue with the livebearers is not when they'll give birth to babies but what are you going to do in the future with them. And what I mean here is that pretty soon you're gonna end with a tank full of guppies and some water... How many adults do you have in there?

    Cigarette smoke

There should not be a problem... Keep the lid down and not exhale right on the water surface !!! ;)
