yea definitly if your gonna go with a cichlid make sure you stay with cichlids.. they dont mix well with outsiders in a way

I just thought members could start uploading their cichlid tanks and give some info about it. It would make some people who are new to cichlids see what they have to look foward for. Collecters could also see different rock formations and get ideas. So go ahead load up your tank! 8)

I had a couple of rams before... good fish .. what size are yours? The Dwarf cocatoo .. never heard of that :blush:

Well.. the topic basically says it all. Right now i have two labs and two aceis in 50gallon tank and im having problems feeding the aceis. They reallly dont want to go up to the top of the tank and get the floating pellets, and the labs take them all. Im having a hard time finding pellots...

yellow labs are nice.. there the most popular i guess if you want to call it of the african cichlids. There pretty hardy fish too.. some aceis are pretty colorfull too... google a cichlid database search. They are always helpful looking at each type

yea its tough taking pics of those bad boys becuase there extremely shy .. the slightest movement i make they swim under the rocks ill try my luck tomorrow morning while i feed them :sly:

yea it might be an acei but the whole body is purple thats the thing. only the fins are yellow :huh:

well the fins on the underside are yellow .. i dont know if thats what you mean though

basically.. the whole body is purple except for all the fins which are yellow.. and its not striped.. i will try and take a pic

I got a pair of these kinds of cichlids in my 55 gallon tank. They are purple with yellow fins and about 2.5/3 inches long right now. They are moderatly aggressive. The male is very territorial and pushes around my labs. Does anyone know what this fish is?? Ive been looking in databases for...

thats what I do too... soak it first so it sinks too the bottom.... I have a red - tail shark too... mines a bottom dweller and quite territorial.

I thought anything over a 10 needed too be braced...

I got a problem here.... Im going to be moving soon and I need help with what I should do with my 26 and 10 gallon tanks. What should I do with the water and the fish. I could put them in bags but how long could they live for in there... Its gonna take me a while to set it up again.

Hey... Just bought a 26 gallon flatback hexagon tank last week. I cycled it and everything and today I bought 5 tiger barbs. I know that they are semi aggresive and are fin biters so I am going to stay with fish in the same category(ex: semi- agressive). Any other suggestions for fish? thanks
