Very cool, I just hope the shark doesnt grow much bigger as I would have thought they require plenty of swimming space.

That is cool... damned expensive but cool. Just the sharks alone would be $300+ apiece then the cost of building the tank, the water, the food...

That would sure be one cool "den", though.

A shop I worked at once upon a time had a similar,1800 gal., shark tank with a black tip and nurse shark. A large mound of live rock in the center was built to create a place where the damsels, tangs, and angels who shared the tank could take refuge. Seems like I remember there being condy anemones, also. Quite the conversation piece, we would get groups of school kids coming in to study the sharks, everyday at 4:00 there would be a feeding demonstration, articles written in the local paper, etc. This man's actual tank looks nicer, though. The shop's tank had "portholes" you would look through to see the sharks.

how big do black tips get?
the tank looks good but i dont know if i really approve of a shark being kept in such a small space
In the wild, I've Scuba dived with some Black tips. They were about 5-6 feet, so, if you were to keep one, the tank would have to be massive.

17000 is more than enough space for some species of sharks though I'm not sure what the other ones he has are, the blacktips probably would eventually out grow it but I assume this guy also has something in mind for when they outgrow the tank. No one who spends that kind of money would blow it with the sharks eventually outgrowing, stunting and dying in their aquarium.
