Other Fish Compatible With Cichlids

Hey.. I was wondering what other fish are compatible with the African Cichlids and their PH.. say like a pleco or a clown loach?

Dont get a turtle. Some plecos are ok BN's always do well. Clown loaches work too providing the tank is big enought for them.

btw mate 26g is no good for mbuna maybe you should look at tang shell dwellers they would be ok in a tank that size.

i was kidding about the turtle

bn's look bad in pics and such, but in real life they are soo cool

Clown Loaches can and have been kept with Mbuna but a word of warning, they prefer much softer water with a lower Ph and need a lot of protein in their diet, which is very bad for Mbuna in large quantities.

yeah we were just thinking about this today, getting a plec or some ground crew or something for the tang tank

BN Plecs and most of the Synodontis catfish species are the best bets IMO for Mbuna and a lot of Syno's are from lake Tanganyika so would also work well with the Tangs.
