Need Help On Identifying This Cichlid

Mark, that looks more like a cynotilapia afra to me, not sure which one though. Just look at the teeth on it.

Reiben, it looks like a yellow tail acei to me, but if you can get a better pic it'd help, side on would be even better. Try feeding them to keep them in the open when you want to take a pic.

All afras have stripes though mate. When i bought them from maidenhead aquatics they were sold as pseudotropheus acei. I have 3 and 2 females are now holding.

ok heres the pics of the cichlids....
i tried to get as close as possible

i would still say they are yellow tail acei, they look like mine & i got mine as aceis. :D
and mine are also a nightmare to get pics off, been trying all morning now lol

I got a pair of these kinds of cichlids in my 55 gallon tank. They are purple with yellow fins and about 2.5/3 inches long right now. They are moderatly aggressive. The male is very territorial and pushes around my labs. Does anyone know what this fish is?? Ive been looking in databases for cichlids and cant find the name. I will try to take a pic if the description is not good.

I've got a fish just like that, same colour, and bullies my labs, too. I'd go with the yellow-tail acei theory, but they're supposed to be rather gentle, right? And they're a bit too blue. But I don't know, I just started on cichlids.

They are a bit more agressive than the labs generally speaking but with mbuna you never know mine were very rapid grwing and are the dominant fish in the tank as they are the biggest.
